We enjoyed our stay at the Historic Scanlan House. Very cozy, very clean, lovely large room - Steeple Suite, a warm welcome by Mary with a nice overview of all the available treats and comforts of the house, a hearty and delicious 3 course breakfast, and many kitties in the garden. We were there celebrating our 19th wedding anniversary for... More

Absolutely gorgeous gardens, not just at Scanlan House, but throughout so much of the town of Lanesboro. The bicycle rentals are so easy with their connection to Little River General Store. Love the location being just a couple blocks up from the main part of town, so it's not on too busy of a street. We love the new guest... More

My wife and I have stayed here at least 3 times and it would be our first choice in Lanesboro if we go back there again. Victorian decorating is over the top and the antiques in this place alone are something to see. The three course breakfast did not permit us to eat lunch. Sure breakfast is at 9 so... More

Thanks for reading! My new husband and I made reservations for a weekend at the Scanlan B&B to celebrate our 6 month anniversary, and I excitedly planned for a special package of offerings to make it romantic and fun. There were a number of little things that added up to a less-than-relaxing experience. Everything runs very late at this house,... More

We had made reservations to stay at the Scanlan House as a family get together/celebration of my mother's 75th birthday. On the day we were due to arrive, my father became critically ill. I called to cancel the reservation and was told that they would have to bill me for the rooms we had reserved, but that they would discount... More

We just returned from four wonderful days at the Scanlan House. Breakfast was fantastic each day - my only complaint - put less food on the plate - I have no willpower! We stayed in the Safari Suite, a lovely oversized room with a double whirlpool, separate sitting room and personal porch complete with cat. We watched a large hawk... More

After reading a couple of reviews about "stuff" I was a bit hesitant. But when I arrived I could not figure out what they were talking about! The website photos showed exactly what was in the room. I even compared a print out of the picture to the room and main rooms and they were identicle. If you are a... More

Another reviewer mentioned that the Scanlan House is 'overdone' - and I have to agree. (This place would be a feng shui expert's nightmare.) However, decor is a matter of personal taste and some people may love all of that 'stuff'. Personally, I prefer my environment to be much less cluttered. It is hard to describe how much stuff is... This looked very nice online and many things were done well. The bed was wonderful, whirlpools in every room, near to attractions, great breakfast. But it was so extremely overdecorated (not depicted in the pictures) that the experience was greatly diminished. The downstairs rooms have so many decorations that they are overwhelming. The landings are hard to navigate past the... More

This B&B is certainly one of a kind. You just feel like family. We stayed in the Sunrise Suite. It is a large room with firelplace and wonderful whirlpool ensuite. It has a large private bath, as well. The owners have thought of every detail. Nothing has been omitted. The huge breakfast was unbelievable....the best we have had. I highly... More
