We are here for four days to pick our son up from Outward Bound. A Stay In is the perfect location and such a quaint place. It is located on the main drag and walking distance to eat, shop and hike. This is the slow season, so we are the only guests for three of the four nights. It is... More

I went to Ely, MN, for a business meeting and decided to stay a day longer to take in the town. Although this is a remote, and a long drive to get to, it does have a few hidden treasures besides being the gateway to the boundary waters. So when making the reservation, negotiate a bit during their off season.... More

The convenient "main street" location in Ely, provided a nice home base for a two-night winter stay. We were able to walk to restaurants for dinner, and walk a little further to pick up a couple things we needed at the grocery store down the street. The BaskeTree bakery also run by the Inn owners was just a couple doors... More

Great place to stay when visiting Ely. We enjoyed both the quiet in the common areas by the fireplace and also visiting with other guests in the common area. Close to everything downtown. More

We stayed in the "Ivory Room" the nights before and after a dogsledding trip with Wintergreen. With a grocery store nearby, we were able to pick up breakfast and dinner supplies and do some cooking in the shared kitchen. The room was very affordable with the winter rates and the added Wintergreen referral discount. The inn is cozy and centrally... More

My family enjoyed staying at the Inn. It's very homey and clean with a good kitchen facility. The owner was really nice from the moment we made an arrangement until we left. The location is right in the downtown area, with easy access to local restaurants and supermarkets. Their bakery has an amazing breakfast. They have the best scone ever! You... More

A Stay Inn Ely is more like a bed and breakfast with more of a homey feeling. There is a sitting room and full kitchen on the first floor. The rooms have polished wood walls and floors which added a nice touch. We stayed on the top floor and loved the layout. The room is very long which gave us... More

Could have been a nice place to stay - but the owner never called back when he said he would - and did not answer his phone. We considered thist very impolite and unprofessional. As a result, we were delayed waiting for his call and ended up staying elsewhere in Ely later in the day. More
