Worst experience ever. Our room was filthy, cob webs, dirty carpeting, wall paper peeling off walls on every wall, leaves and hair in the tub, only one towel and no washcloths in bathroom, cigarette burns in the sheets, and worst of all it reeked of smoke and BO. Couldn't believe it is even legal to rent out places like this....

We spent a week in July at a very nice condo at Boyne Mountain Resort. Wanting to stay in the area for an additional day and enjoy Petosky's Art in the Park, we stopped in at Walloon Lake Lodge (formerly Dickson's Lodge) on a whim to check it out. We are really not the "motel" type, as snobby as that...

I reserved rooms for myself and extended family for a wedding in August 2010. To my extreme embarassment, the air conditioning did not work in two of the rooms, the towels were thin and rough as sandpaper, stairs to the upstairs were crumbling and dangerous. The people in the rooms without a/c gave up, and left for home at 6...

Found this motel while trying to find motels in the Boyne City Michigan area. All Motels in the area were over $100.00 dollars a night but found this one for $74.00 a night. The pictures of the pool and outside of the motel looked good and was close to where we were visiting. Boy the pictures must have been taken...

We recently went to a great Marriage Conference at Walloon Lake Community Church and needed a place close by for our overnight stay. Dicksons Lodge was a nice place. I was a bit scared since reading the other reviews but we took a chance and it was just fine. It was clean and comfortable. It is not a 5 star...

First of all, let me say that I am not a snob when it comes to motels/hotels. I usually look for a good value when traveling with the family, so on this trip to "Boyne Country" I decided to give Dickson's a try. I have stayed at most of the motels/hotels between Boyne Falls and Harbor Springs over the past...

Me and two girlfriends spent 3 days up in the Nubs Nob area and had reservations at Dickson's Lodge. We pulled up and there was not another soul in sight. We walked into the "lobby" and there was no one at the desk. We waited about 15 minutes and finally called the lobby. A phone sitting in the room started...

When traveling, I just want an inexpensive place to stay. Staying at
Dickson's is like getting a bonus for the money you spend. Near main attractions in Mackinaw, Boyne, Petoskey, Traverse City, and the Upper Peninsula it was convienant right on the way to where I was heading.
I was tired and just expected the basic bed and bath. To...
