My husband and I visited the Inn at Black Star Farms in November, 2011 with 3 other couples for our annual wine tasting weekend. We usually stay at Chateau Chantal, which we love, but decided to try the Inn at BSF for a change. Our room, Diadem, was spacious and comfortable, and included a complimentary bottle of wine. The bed... More

I visited with a friend for a quick getaway. We stayed at three places and this was our first. It was by far the very best in every way. When we arrived we were greeted warmly and given a tour of the Inn. Our room was wonderful. Well appointed, luxury linens, gorgeous fire place, wine in the chiller for us... More

The rooms were really nice - we stayed two nights and got to check out most of the rooms as some point and they are all amazing. The breakfast was 5 star - not only did it look amazing, but it tasted wonderful. The owner came to breakfast and talked about the winery and how it got started. Very friendly... More

My husband and I love the Traverse City area so after we got engaged last summer we visited a handful of venues for our wedding and BSF stood out above the rest. We loved the setting and knew as soon as we saw it that it was where we wanted to get married. We had our ceremony and reception at... More

My husband and I just left the Black Star Inn and we cannot stay enough wonderful things about this place. The staff are the friendliest people you will meet. The rooms are absolutely spotless (and I am SO picky). Ask for the Atlas Room - beautiful room with an enormous bathroom. The Inn is situated on a farm in Sutton... More

Fantastic place and we will be back. It seems that all of the rooms are great, from the largest to smallest. Our mattress could stand to be replaced, but don't let that detract. The people are nice, the food was fantastic, location perfect, and it's just beautiful there. Perfect place for a getaway (not great for kids I don't think,... More

We stayed here for our honeymoon last week, and were completely enamored by everything about Black Star Farms. The breakfast given each morning is amazing, and made with many organic products that are grown onsite (bacon, asparagus, etc) and/or from local businesses. The farm onsite has an array of animals, which for an animal lover like myself was a joy... More

Planned a girlfriend's Wine Tour weekend and stayed at Blackstar Farms Inn for 2 nights. What an amazing experience! From the second we checked in, Jill was such a gracious hostess the entire weekend. She made us feel special without being overbearing. We loved the hospitality hours, and the breakfasts -- WOW! Really fabulous food! The chef cooked a special... More
