Yes, there is a bar next door... but they shut down by 11. We were fairly entertained while some drunk guys sang karaoke. If you are looking for a quiet escape stay in a cottage out by the pool. Everything was very clean and we had a nice experience with the owners. They made small talk and served us our... More

The noise from the bar next door, mentioned by other reviewers, is really problematic in the rooms in the front of the house. We could not sleep until 2:30 a.m. and chose not to stay a second night. The innkeepers are sympathetic but have no solution. We found the inn very clean and the breakfast good. Didn't feel as welcome... More

We stayed in the Cottage Suite for a girlfriends' getaway. The picture on their web site is a little deceiving - we found the single room to be smaller than anticipated ~ with an uncomfortable sleeper sofa and dated furnishings - quaint is describing it nicely. The older (but adequate) a/c unit was small and on the wall, the tv/dvd... More

We were not welcomed at all. The owner did not even say hello when we walked in, he just showed us our room. In all fairness, the room itself was nice. The problem was, there is a bar literally about 20 feet from the room. They had the band playing really loud. It sounded like we were at the bar.... More

First of all-I have stayed at the Suncatcher numerous times over the years. The previous owners were warm, welcoming, and fun to be around. The new owners frankly don't seem to be cut out for this line of work. The Inn is still clean, in a great location, and has good food. But the little things are missing. You don't... More

My wife and I and another couple arrived on a Sunday and stayed through Friday. We enjoyed a terrific week of relaxation and fun in Saugatuck. The Newnham Suncatcher Inn was a delight. The owners, Emmet and Deanna, plus their daughter Jada, made it a most welcoming and enjoyable stay. We shared the upstairs suite consisting of two bedrooms and... More

This place was ok. The description fo the room was a little deceiving. I expected the enterance to the private bathroom to be inside the bedroom. It just is not my preference. Layout of the house is a little awkward. I felt like I was walking though the family's living room to get to the pool.

Tried to make a reservation by telephone for this B&B for Sunday night. Online calendar showed just one night available for the cottage. The proprietor said there is a 2-night policy for weekends. I said we wanted to fill in the gap for just the one night. Deana said, "Good-bye." Guess I won't be saying "Hello."

We were in Saugatuck for the first time and for only 1 night. Location and comfort were our biggest concerns as we do not spend much time in the room when we travel; we were pleased with the Suncatcher in both areas. The inn is right downtown near all of the great shops and restaurants and Oval Beach is only... More

We have been visiting the Newnham for 10 years and greatly enjoyed the owners. We knew they were trying to sell but were kind of shocked when we confirmed our reservations and spoke to the new owners. We tried very hard to be objective but we found it to be far less welcoming than previously, their dogs jumped up on... More
