My wife and I go tent camping, 6 to 7 times a year. We do our homework, when it comes to new campgrounds. We will spend time, in march and april, looking over several campgrounds that might draw our interest. We went to Scotrun RV and Camping Resort, in March of 2013, because we signed up for Thousand Trails. Living... More

We purchased the Zone Camping Pass (Southwest) for about $500 in 2011 and tent-camped at various campgrounds to save on hotels while visiting surrounding areas. After camping just a few times, the pass paid for itself. Very nice to have showers and other conveniences in a reasonably secure setting. In the colder months, we put the tent away and used... More

We were looking forward to the 1000 Trails membership...free camping all year. How could you not be excited? Our first overnight was at St.Clair's campground. The trees were beautiful, the quiet was peaceful and the women working there were nice as can be. That is where my compliments stop. Most of the desired sites we taken by year around residents... We signed up for Thousand Trails after we had attempted to get a campsite for our 32' 5th wheel for July 4th in Gettysburg. Needless to say, the rate for the one site we could have rented required a 4 night stay at $77/night. We were camping close by to the Thousand Trails in Gettysburg Farm and thought we'd take... More

We stayed at the Scotrun campground on 4/5/12, our first stay since enrolling in Thousand Trails membership. Previously, as 10+ year campers, we primarily stayed at state parks. We were disappointed with the Scotrun park in several aspects. First, although there appeared to be many available spaces according to the reservation system, in fact there were very few that would... More

Great Location for visiting in the Detroit, Mt. Clemens, Port Huron Area - very close to I 94 exit. Gated Park with choice of open or shady sights -some pull throughs; nice comfortable "community" facility with exercise room, large recreation room with attached laundry (4 washers and 4 dryers) washed several loads with out difficulty; wifi access; small store open... Not worth your time.... Even if it is free. We received "supposedly" a free 3 night stay when we bought our trailer. Yeah right!!! Thought we would check it out in the NorthEastern Zone. If we wanted to use this free stay we would have to buy a membership!! I would not recommend this membership to anyone. What a joke!!!... More

My husband and I joined Thousand Trails with hopes of enjoying our new travel trailer, what a mistake we made. We just discovered that we can only use our membership 7 out of the 12 months since all the sites in the Northeast zone close for the winter. Also once you sign the contract you are bound by it for... More

My husband and I bought a new motorhome this year and received a temporary membership for Thousand Trails. We decided to try the one in St. Clair,Mi since it was closest to our daughter's home. We thought since this is a membership park it would be very nice ~ we were very wrong. It was very run down looking, most... More
