I stayed here for one night last week with a friend. I was called on the day I was due to arrive and someone from the hotel left me a message telling me that they had no rooms available - although I had made the booking over a week before - so they had put us into a hotel in...

The hotel is an ancient monastic school. The buildings are beautiful. Stayed in the 3* section. Rooms Spartan (it was not a pupose built hotel, and this has it's own charm) but adequate, lovely view, peaceful and quiet. Soreze is a gorgeous GORGEOUS little town. Very quiet with only two restaurants and one pub in addition to the hotel.

Plus there is a swimming pool and a very large garden if you wanna run in the morning. There is a few things to do...

And the rooms were also hard to find within the building, several stories up and down with a very complicated system of entering the buildings.
The village...

I chose this hotel as an overnight stop enroute from Carcassonne to Milau. Up in the Black Mountains, Soreze is a small town built around this historic 8th century abbey, which, following the French Revolution, became a private boys school. Now a luxury hotel, it has 2 buildings--one a 2-star hotel and the other a 3-star. We stayed on the...
