Our one-night stay in Chateau Bavolier was lovely. Ann is a gracious host who welcomed us with champagne and shared her fascinating tales of restoring the chateau. We stayed in the Master suite and it was truly enormous and very elegantly-decorated, as is the salon and dining room. Ann also provided a lovely breakfast in the morning. Two things to... More

We chose this as it was a good location for our drive down to Gers in the summer. The building is stunning and the Chateau is light and airy. We had a great welcome from Ann and got some bubbles in the lovely late afternoon sun. She had good musical choices for both dinner and breakfast and was a delight... More

We had a great time at the Chateau. Most of the time we felt we had the Chateau instinctively alone for us. It was a pleasure, but next time, we will take the bigger room. Thanks Ann, we will definitely come back.

Our recent trip to Blaye was totally complimented by Ann, warm and generous host at Chateau Bavolier. Our room was simply spectacular and breakfast was tasty. We weren't feeling too great during our stay (suffering with Flu) but we were made to feel welcome and rested here. Ann gave us some great tips for the local area - for food... More

We found Chateau Bavolier one night before a spontaneous drive through south of France. We were greeted with a gorgeous dinner and wine when we arrived, and an equally gourmet breakfast first thing in the morning. The room was more luxurious that we could have imagined, and the hostess was kind, open, and generous. Thank you!

Thank you to Ann for a very warm welcome at Chateau Bavolier. We stayed in the four poster room, which is massive and beautifully decorated, just like the rest of this beautiful property. We were there to celebrate our anniversary and we were welcomed with a nice chilled bottle of sparkling wine in the garden. Ann was very helpful and... More

We were fortunate enough to choose Chateau Bavolier for a few days on our way to a wedding. From the moment the lovely owner Ann greeted us in the garden with a welcoming bottle of wine we knew we were in for a fabulous stay. The grounds are beautiful and Ann has restored the Chateau to the highest standard and... More

Nestling in the countryside near to Blaye, Bavolier is a kind of 17th century mini-model of a palace, full of columns, nooks, frescoes and plaster flourishes. I stayed with a friend from school. Returning from a walk in the vineyards, we felt like we'd slipped back in time a couple of centuries. The location is fantastic - great for touring... More

We stayed in July 2011 but due to circumstances are only now posting to Trip Advisor. We would strongly recommend Chateau Bavolier. The owner, Ann Roberts goes above and beyond the call of duty ensuring her guests have an enjoyable stay. Ann's knowledge on the surrounding areas is second to none. Chateau Bavolier is very convenient to visiting Blaye, Bordeaux... More
