Not only is the mgr rude he is also a liar and a thief. He discrimated and harassed me. Stole my property and also thru my belongings in the dumpster. Refused to return my deposit 100 deposit because I hung a removable command hook.the 24 hour survalience involves people who reside there permantly watching your every move and reporting to Jerry. They will also lie about things that could easily be proven by viewing the “cameras” the doors do not lock properly and can easily be entered with a credit card. The staff enter your room whenever they want with or without you present. Jerry demanded to do a walk thru he said “ you have 5 mins. I was showering also was wearing only a towel. There is an access from the drop ceiling that can be entered from a different room. You can’t tell from the outside but the rooms have a basement and they record you. Jerry stole my homemade cement anchor that I used for a dog tieout. It is attached to his boat under the deck where he resides. Do not stay here. It isn’t safe! And your privacy and belongings will be destroyed or stollen.

On July 5, 2021, my boyfriend and I checked into this hotel with the intentions of staying 2 nights and immediately regretted our decision. The price seemed fair at first, unfortunately, after the first 30 minutes of being there, we realized it was a huge mistake choosing that establishment. We are from Florida, so we are not up to date on every law and rule for every state. With that being said, in Michigan, both recreational and medical use of marijuana is legal, so we were not aware that use of cannabis, our medicine, was not allowed on the property, especially since every other hotel in Michigan that we have stayed in, allowed it on their property for medical patients as long as we were outside. As soon as we fired up the medicine, the owner came out of his room and immediately started being rude and aggressive towards the both of us, even though it was immediately extinguished and I respectfully apologized for our lack of knowledge pertaining to the state law about the use of cannabis on privately owed hotel property. Mind you, there were no signs whatsoever posted on the property or in the paperwork we signed to get the room prohibiting the use of marijuana on the on the property. Although I repeatedly apologized, he continued to be rude, aggressive, and very unprofessional. The room was not the cleanest, but it was tolerable, that was until the numerous mosquitoes began their assault on us both that continued the entire night. Due to my Multiple Sclerosis and not being allowed to take my medicine, I was in extreme pain all night and was unable to sleep at all. My boyfriend suffers from extreme PTSD, which also kept him from sleeping because he could not medicate. Needless to say, we checked out in the morning. While we were in the lobby trying to check out, everyone in the lobby could hear the owner telling his employees about us smoking pot and making us sound like drug addicts , instead of just stating that it was a misunderstanding on our part. We will NEVER return to this hotel and we highly recommend choosing somewhere else for lodging.

Broken down dump, trashy shady place . Phones were hacked , room was disgusting. Manager Jerry was rude and should be labeled as a womanizer after he barged in with just my fionce there and not fully dressed. Shorted us a day.on our stay, didn't get refund or deposit back. And oh yea, the basement/ listening room is special... with.the net analyzer app you will be able to see I'm not making anything up... word of advice .. stay as far away as you possibly can.... I wouldn't pay 3cents to go there again... !! Zero stars...I've been on some bs. Before but this place takes every thing you got and you won't even know it happened until its too late.

I got in really late after traveling all day and was really tired. I opened the door and saw the urine stained couch. Then, looked at the rust stained sink, the bath tub drain that is awfully corroded. The food splattered microwave was just too much to stomach. All flat surfaces were covered with a gritty like dust particles. The floor made my socks dirty as soon as I walked on them. The bed was hard and I was terrified of bugs! This looks to be a weekly or monthly rental place!!! DONT GO THERE!!! Also, the vanity door fell off.

My rating of 3 stars is based upon other hotels of this kind. It would have been 4 stars had the room been quieter. Room was nice and large, clean, and bug free. Had a small fridge and microwave as well as a sleeper sofa and queen size bed. Bed was comfortable as well as the pillows. (6' 1" & 220lbs) Good water pressure for showers. The AC compressor did rattle when it kicked on but wasn't much of a problem. I didn't leave it on all night, just the fan. I would recommend this for people traveling on a budget. I received this and another room for $50.00 each, arriving around 10PM with no reservations. The only issue for me was that I asked for a quiet room and being dark I didn't really understand the layout. This room turned out to be the closest one to the road. I have no idea what the lady was thinking when giving me this room!! She was nice as was the actual owner the next morning. Seems the owner had an issue with the discount that was given to me but not my problem and frankly she should not have mentioned it to me. There were/are other issues that some people might find concerning (pool & wrinkled wall coverings). See my pictures.

My entire room smelled so strongly like dog or cat urine it was disgusting! I brought my own blanket and pillows and when I left I could still smell it on them and it was stinking up my car, so I had to pull over and put the blanket and pillows in the trunk. If they are going to allow pets then they should at least have certain rooms that are pet free. If they are not willing to have some rooms that are not pet friendly then they need to take out the carpet and put in a tile flooring or something that is easy to clean and the urine doesn't soak into. I have stayed at nicer hotels with my dog before and all the pet friendly rooms had tile flooring that was mopped after each guest left. If it wasn't for the nasty smell this motel would be a bargain due to the price and proximity to the casino. Also, they do rent out some of their rooms to full time residence, so you may be placed next someone who lives there year round and they are not the safest looking people.

I've often stayed at the Arbor Inn in Marshall. It's a bit frayed at the edges, and certainly doesn't offer any luxuries, but the rooms are clean and nicely heated/air conditioned, everything seems to work, and there's really nothing to complain about. The price is the main incentive. It's a decent place for not much money. Food is available in Marshall, there's a strip mall on the way into town with a grocery store and a K-Mart, and of course, Marshall is one of those towns that looks like American small towns should look and don't. Battle Creek is just a short drive in the opposite direction. If you're staying in the neighborhood, and would be satisfied with a decent room for a little less money than the chain hotels just down the road, the Arbor Inn is just fine.

I've had to stay in multiple motels and this place is a step above. Awesome staff, CLEAN! Dog friendly, really nice little area the walk around. I witnessed not once by twice the cleaning staff taking out and cleaning all of the bed sheets. I don't think there is more charge on the weekends, its only 5$ (I think) per dog. No riff raff.. Its a nice place if you have to be in the area. I'd go out of my way if you don't want to wonder if you are checking in to a half way house. And... I haven't had pop tarts in a looking Time😊 Thanks to the staff especially the cleaning crew
