My 8 year old daughter got sick the morning of check out. She was throwing up and had no energy. This was a difficult situation in that I had to get her back to town and catch a ferry. I asked the hotel for a mere extra hour in the room while she was recovering. They said absolutely not. This... More

Requests for late check-out are handled on a daily basis based upon occupancy demands of the hotel. Unfortunately, with this weekend being Memorial Day, we were unable to accommodate your request. More

Probably my favorite hotel in the world. As a pilot I appreciate how close it is to the beautiful little airport on the island. The restaurant is marvelous and the one-lane bowling alley next to it (you had to set your own pins) was delightful. For a while it would open for New Years Eve and a few days either... More

My trip to Mackinac Island was terrific but The Inn at Stonecliffe made it so authentic. I felt like I was a guest at an English Manor. The room I staying in was really spacious and well done, with a sweeping view of the beautiful grounds and in the background was Lake Michigan and the Straits of Mackinac. I loved... More

Our family spent three nights at the Inn at Stonecliffe this past summer and it was absolutely magical. Stonecliffe is off the beaten track, tucked in the woods away from the all the tourists but is in biking distance to so many of the islands cool attractions. The kids' days were filled with adventures and they loved being able to... More

Booked two rooms and paid for them, had to "try" and cancel due to very bad weather and the chance that we would not even make it over to the island at all. When I tried to move them one day, they wanted to charge me DOUBLE! Even though I was a repeat customer along with several of my staff,... More

Visitors come to Mackinac Island to step back in time and The Inn at Stonecliffe is a unique "manor" in which to do this. Built in 1904 the main mansion is a well perserved historical charmer. I arrived on a cold and windy mid October day when the season was nearing an end. I like to visit the island at... More

We are a family of 4 who spent a night there very recently. We based our booking on the favorable reports in Tripadvisor, but found the premises to be somewhat lacking. We were lodged not in the main Inn but in the adjacent "Summer Cottages". Our expectations were that in this serene setting, far from the more touristy areas, we... More

The property sits back into the interior of the island, about 2-3 miles from the tourist area. It has big beautiful grounds with some hiking trails in the back. We had a corner room suite with a king bed and two walls of windows overlooking the water and the bridge. Beautiful room called the Cudahy room. Sitting on this hotel's... More

My family and I all enjoyed a weekend wedding celebration for my niece at Stonecliffe. The mansion and grounds are so stunningingly gorgeous that I felt like a spoiled tycoon and my Summer Home in the early 1900s. What an absolute joy everything was, the views of Mackinac bridge are breathtaking from the back lawn, everything was spotless, professionally staffed.... More
