A group of coworkers wanted to plan a weekend getaway..one not really to far away, but yet felt like it was! This did the trick for us! We went to New Buffalo for dinner, had two rooms between the four of us, played cards, and board games till wee hours of the night... being off season, I was the only... More

Beautiful Historic Inn, not fancy, but this is reflected in the price. Rooms are clean, but could use some updating. Water stains to bathroom sink, not dirty. Coffee is good, Sitting on the front porch (on a nice day) can be very relaxing, The Inn has private access to the Lake Michigan shoreline. Makes for a nice weekend Fall getaway.

We stayed at this Inn back in June, and it was our first time. We had our 6 year old and 1 year daughters in tow. At first, we were taken aback by the primitiveness of the place/room. Our room consisted of a bed, chair, and a small dresser, all of which seemed to have been in the room since... More

What a lovely Inn!! So quiet, it was wonderful being greeted by the fire in the stone fireplace on a chilly, wet day. We were going to a Notre Dame game and found this Inn.. It was perfect. Not a far drive to the stadium, right by the Lake, wonderful accomodations, and even a nice breakfast on Saturday and Sunday... More

As others have noted, this is a quaint, three story sprawling building reminisent of less hurried times. Lots of rich wood and stone makes relaxing in the main gathering areas cozy. Early 1900's furnishings create a casual atmosphere for relaxing anytime during the day or night. Rockers on the front porch provide the perfect relaxing spot in the evening after... More

We go to the Lakeside Inn every year. It is a quaint, utterly charming inn that takes you back in time. First and foremost, the front porch is the most relaxing place to be on a summer's day. Find a swing or a rocking chair and bask in the peace and quiet and beauty of the front yard of the... More

This hotel has a great location with a beautiful private beach on Lake Michigan. I generally dislike chain hotels and love going local - this inn had great historical charm. Negatives did include nothing fancy for the base room price - while charming, the bed and linens were nothing special and the shower was showing mold along the grouting that... More

This was our second trip to the Lakeside Inn. I love that it is set back in a quiet neighborhood with lovely private beach access. We had Room #4 this time, ground floor room with a spa tub. While the room itself was clean, and the bathroom was okay, the tub looked dingy and I did not feel comfortable taking... More

I bid and won a "donated" certificate at an out of state function. It had limited usability, and when I called and spoke to the manager, she was less than friendly. Flying in from out of state, I explained that it would be hard to keep my reservation. I offered to pay the the difference between the low season rate... More

This place is different than the quaint Inns of the area. For us, that was a good thing. It's gorgeous old woodwork and Arts & Crafts decor is charming and feels like an escape that normally would take 5 hours or a flight from Chicago. It's not for everyone, as it has some older fixtures and is not an all-new... More
