My family stayed at the Colonial Inn in the fall of last year. Just driving around enjoying the beautiful fall colors in Northern Mi when we came across this beautiful old old home it in what we discovered was an area filled with history. The Inn Keeper, Shirley is a sweet lady that we found to be very helpful. The... More

I stayed at the Colonial Inn July 2011 with my family. We had a wonderful time it was a charming Inn in the quiet little town of Harbor Springs, Michigan. I recommend this place to anyone going to the area. More

Yikes! I saw the owner (I think he was the owner) throw a complete temper tantrum at a couple of guys who were using the hot tub. This was a screaming, jumping up and down temper tantrum - really, I'd never seen anything like it. I don't really know if the guys were guests at the hotel, but even if... More

Harbor Springs police report #710-2011 confirms that W. Taylor, author of “Temper Tantrum” was the trespasser (not hotel guest) that I was reprimanding for using my hot tub. His review was written as a backlash for being caught and thrown out. He has never even seen the rooms at my hotel. Mr. Taylor was renting a nearby cottage, which just... More

We stay at the CI as the season was ending and it was delightful. Price was lower than other places and we were right in the center of Wequetonsing so we could ride bikes everywhere in Harbor Springs. Breakfast was good and the large room was comfortable. More

Lovely grounds and nice service. Rooms are clean but could use better window treatments and deadbolts to bring privacy up to par. Neighborhood is gorgeous and safe. Breakfast is very simple. Very good value in an adorable town! More

We were in town for a soccer tournament in Petoskey. Many families from our city took over this hotel for the weekend of the tournament. It is a charming, older hotel. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The blinds are the vertical, older kind and do not block out much light. The rooms are in separate buildings, many of... More

We had been wanting to bike the Little Traverse Wheelway from Charlevoix to Harbor Springs, MI. Late September 2010 afforded perfect weather to do that. We also wanted to spend the night in Harbor Springs and ride back to Charlevoix the next day. We had stayed at the Colonial Inn way back in 1979, and remembered what a delight it... More

Location is beautiful, the grounds are well maintained, the area is quiet. The rooms are bright and clean, however, there is too much emphasis put on trying to cover up the mold smell which in turns leaves a "bad taste in your mouth". We continuously had to air out the place. There are no iron or ironing boards in the... More

Altho. the Inn is clean and in a wonderful town, it is dated and missing basic amenitites...breakfast was all but gone before 9:30..one banana , dry piece of bread...had to go elsewhere. No hair dryer, iron, etc. Not enough value for the price. More

Room was clean & bright. Bed was comfortable. Enjoyed the French doors that opened to the patio. The upper deck type patio is one long walkway of cement. This is an older structure so kind of expected to see things a bit in a deteriorating condition. But all in all I was impressed with the cleanliness of the place. Except... More
