Detailed Reviews
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at Papins Log Cabin Resort as first time visitors to Drummond Island. The cabin was immaculate and the kitchen had all the amenities we required. We were especially grateful that there was a full sized fridge and weber grill to keep and cook the fish we caught that weekend. The cabin was the perfect spot as it really felt like a true get away. Having no wi-fi at the cabin turned out to be a great way to escape and enjoy nature without being tied to a phone or computer (wi-fi is available at the main office). Thanks for a great stay!

Our group has been coming to Papins for over 10 years. We always have a great time Any and Mike are always wonderful hosts. they give you as much input as you need. We have stayed in many of the cabins every one is unique. I have recommended this place to a lot of people over the years and still do. I always feel its the best place to stay on Drummond Island.

We stayed at Papins resort for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. the place isn't fancy, but it is clean, off the beaten path, and in a beautiful area of Michigan. It is family run and they were helpful in giving directions for places on the island. The beds are comfortable. The cabins are clean and has the kitchen equipment that you need -- toaster, coffeepot, dishes, etc. We stayed in the "Little Cabin", which is small, but we spent most of our time on the front porch while there. They rent boats for fishing or just boating around the island.

Toilet....needs repair. No heat....wear and tear on the cabin.....I guess people have not experienced better. Clean, but worn. I guess you get what you pay for...prices aren't bad....but things could have been better. Rough it with a cabin....

Response from Amy B, Owner at Papins Log Cabin Resort
Responded 3 Oct 2015
I'm not sure which cabin you stayed in, but we do make repairs when we are notified of them. Also, ALL of our cabins have heat. If you weren't sure how to turn it on, you just have to ask. Sorry that you didn't enjoy your stay. And yes, our cheaper cabins are worn, that's why they are still cheap! ;) however, I do appreciate that you noticed it was clean. If you would like to come back, you might try one of our newer log homes? Thanks for taking the time to write a review, maybe you could send me an email so I know what toilet you are referring to? thank you!

My older brother, sister and I spent three nights in cabin 3. It was clean and comfortable. I was unable to connect to their wifi in the office, and the tap water tasted salty to us, but otherwise the stay was great. The beds were comfortable and it was quiet. It was located off the beaten path, but not far from groceries, restaurants and all the sites. Our first trip to Drummond Island and we would definately stay at Papin's again.

My husband and I rented the Carabou lodge for a week stay with our son, daughter in law and two grand children. This was not just a cabin, it was a log home. Very clean and spacious. All the comforts of home. The log home had a beautiful view of the bay, with your own boat dock right our front. Amy , the proprietor goes out of her way to make you feel at home. Great place to stay and very reasonably priced.

We stayed at this campground for a long weekend and had a great time. It was a perfect spot on Drummond, and the owner was very helpful with recommendations. We stayed at one of the cabins near the water, and it was a beautiful spot! There was working wifi in the office if needed, and even ice cream for a dollar. You can tell the owners really care about this place and their guests! Thank you for a great stay.

Our group rented 4 side by side cabins for a week long stay. It is a great spot for a group trip! We rented a boat and kayaks for the week and they were throughly enjoyed by everyone in our group. Amy and Mike are great hosts and were always available to answer any questions we had.

First, Papin's isn't luxury accomodations and the cabins we were in, were a bit north of rustic. Livable, but definitely could use some upgrades. Other cabins may or may not be better. We arrived to find our cabin #4 clean and well equipped although they could add a few hooks in the bath for a towel or two. This is basically a fishing camp and it appeared they cater to family groups that have been customers for years. The owners are more than hospitable. The docks are well maintained, there's a fish cleaning station, fire pits, satellite TV, and wifi available in a 24 hr. lounge.

We stayed for a week and can't say enough good things about Papin's ! Our cabin was a work of art with imperfect artistic touches and super comfy for 5 girls. Kitchen was fully stocked with every cooking item we needed. Firewood is included and a fire under the stars is a must do! Go see it!
