Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This motel is coasting on its location and should rent at a much bigger discount than its competitors in Williamstown. The room had a bad odor (mold, mildew?) and we were uncertain that the door really closed. The front window screen was off and the track broken. Then bathroom window was broken and I was afraid it would fall in the tub. The desk chair (not a desk) was so low that my chest was at the surface level. The chair was probably broken because it reclined so much. One of the outside stairs to the second level was rusted away and supported by two blocks of wood. I plan on appealing to Wyndham for a night's refund.

Clean and quiet room and location. Modest, simple, dated furnishings and decor. Switched rooms due to faulty thermostat. Breakfast room was not open at scheduled time. When it did open, had very little food: hard boiled eggs, oatmeal packets, coffee, creamer and milk. No batter to use with waffle iron and no bread to use with toaster. None of the other typical items at complimentary breakfasts, e.g. fruit, yogurt, spreads, cereal, juice...quite sparse. A deception.

Run down, shabby, old rooms. Stains on towels. Noisy airconditioning that needs maintenance. WIFI disconnected several times during the day. Very basic breakfast with no staff on duty.

Not on par with HJ hotels elsewhere.

Needs serious maintenance and upgraded amenities.

Staff seem friendly.

I found this establishment to be more than satisfactory for a 2-night stay to visit family. We've stayed at a number of places in this area (hotel, motel, Airbnb) over the last year and chose HJ this time because the price was too good to pass up. The room was clean, modern, and large enough that 2 adults moving about weren't bumping into each other. The casual breakfast provided was better than expected, with a clean, sunny breakfast room, a waffle maker, decent coffee, and fresh fruit, among other items. The bathroom was small and the fixtures were dated, but so what? I'd rather save $20/night than have a new bathtub for my 2 showers. I would like to see the pool become available for when we visit this area during the warmer months.

This hotel is still falsely advertising having a pool as one of its facilities. Their pool is in disrepair & clearly has not been open to guests for a very long time.
Another family stayed at the same time as us with their children & they were conned like us, that there was a pool. They asked for their money back & I'm sure they didn't get it because we asked for even just a discount for the clear lack of a pool, among other things, & they out & out refused. Expedia called for us too & promised follow up to keep on top of this hotel so other guests wouldn't be duped, but I suppose unsurprisingly & unfortunately predictably nothing has happened.

Other issues:

When checking in, they said they wouldn't clean rooms because of coronavirus. Understandable if you don't come into my room while I'm there, because I don't want you in there, but it was clear about all they did before we arrived was change the sheets.

The shower was fixed so you couldn't turn it to hot. You could clearly see on the dial it wouldn't turn up. So be prepared for cold showers. The bathroom sink had hot water & so we could only presume the shower was meddled with to save on their hot water bill, even though you've paid for hot water when paying for the room.

It was pretty dirty. We brought our own bag of cleaning supplies because of covid fears & were glad we did. We aren't clean nuts, but this place was not good. The coffee pot was unusable, no matter how much we tried to clean it. We ran only water through it a bunch of times to make sure it was clean. The amount of gunk that feel into the clear cup each time was gross. We went to dunkin donuts instead.

Crumbs all over seats from previous guests.

When we sprayed disinfectant in the bathroom, dirt streaks came down the tub walls. Pretty clear that hadn't been cleaned in a while.

The keys stopped working every time we left the room & had to alert the front desk.

Our tv wasn't hooked up when we checked in. We had to figure it ourselves after a long drive. We couldn't ask for help on many things like this because none of the staff spoke English to help us. Just a whole lot of pointing & not understanding. In the end we almost thought this was by design so they wouldn't have to listen to complaints.

the hotel. This booking was made by me for a friend who has Cerebral Palsy and a service dog. Both details were in the booking. When he arrived, I was with him, he was informed they could not accommodate him as they have ONE room dedicated to service dogs. When they were informed that is against the law he was allowed to check in but was informed he would have to move rooms the next day.
He was told they, the hotel staff, would help with the move. This is also against the law to make him move. On Sunday when he returned to the hotel he was locked out of his room., They key card was deactivated.
He was not assisted with the move. The room was dirty, there were holes in the carpets, it smells of cigarette smoke, the chain on the door is broken and there is stains on the furniture.
On Monday, an older gentleman from the hotel scowled at him when he was leaving his room. This morning that same gentleman tried to throw him out of the office/breakfast area. Other gusts came to my friends defense. The gentleman said quote "I do not care what the law is. We own this hotel. Dogs mess up the furniture and get the bathtub full of mud. We do not take pets.

Are rooms were not cleaned, towels were not replaced, beds were not fixed, for the whole time we were there. We had to hunt down the maids to get extra towels. Not much to ask for. This trip was for friends wedding, so going in and out and hoping that we would have towels when we needed to take a shower we're very important, we never had that. Including the fact that the beds were not made, garbage was not removed. Terrible service!

No heat in the rooms, no hot water, smoke detectors missing. Check in was a nightmare. Clerk lied and said the rooms weren't ready when we tried to check in at 4, he further lied when he said the motel had no adjoining rooms. It was terrible.

Nothing against the staff. but the hotel is clearly always vacant. Most likely the last hotel booked in the area. cheap, door lets light in. not sure if it was the safest hotel. messed both my keys up. breakfast was donuts and watered down coffee cereal that was probably put out when the establishment opened in the 1950s. Unless you are a poor college kid you can do better than staying in this hotel.

No issues with staff but the place was not as it appeared online. Very old and rundown looking. Not very clean and coffee maker in room could not be used as it was gross inside and was not clean--not something I could even get clean myself in the bathroom sink. Listened to people above walking around in the middle of the night as the creaking floor was very loud in the room. Very outdated. Not a place I would go back to.
