This house is in a fantastic location in Vineyard Haven, just a few minutes walk from the ferry and from shops. Beautifully maintained house and garden makes for a relaxing and charming environment. The rooms each have a different set up with a mix of en suite or separate/shared bathrooms, so something to suit everyone's taste. It doesn't feel uncomfortable... More

The stay was most enjoyable. In a quiet Main St. neighborhood; this historic landmark is in a most pristine physical garden setting, & is within walking distance to The Vineyard Haven ferry. The small yet immaculate bedroom(s) & (some) shared baths, are more than adequate, well maintained, with an attention to the needs & comfort of guests as the ultimate... More

There is a relaxed atmosphere at the inn and the staff and friendly and helpful. I plan on staying there again my next visit to the island and I highly... More

I had a great time staying at the 1720 house. The place is nicely kept, very clean and very easy to get to from the ferry in Vineyard Haven. It is also very close to bus routes, easy biking, a (small) beach and a park preserve. The breakfast was good with ample selection and enough food to keep my hungry... More

Glorious time at the historic....perfectly renovated.... 1720 House in Vineyard Haven. Short walk from ferry, we were greeted with hot tea and cookies. Warm and comfortable and great help with navigating the island. Left car on the other side and no problem getting around. Had nearby dinners that were excellent. Attention to detail at The 1720 House was much appreciated.... More

The 1720 House was a wonderful place to stay. We have been there in summer and recently in winter and never disappointed. The house is lovely with its antique structure but high ceilings and wonderfully restored. The service is attentive and helpful. The beds comfortable and the sheets soft. We love the great copper beech tree in the back of... More

We spent a winter weekend on Marthas Vineyard at The 1720 House and loved every minute. The sun shone brightly so it was warm enough to walk along trails and beaches with no crowds. Enough restaurants were open so we ate great food. The B&B served us hot chocolates and brownies and teas in the afternoons. The owner and her... More

The 1720 House was just right for our family – and our budget. We loved the feeling of staying in a home that was built in the early 18th Century. And, although this quaint B&B has retained its historic character, it still offers amenities like air conditioning, free wi-fi and modern bathrooms. Perhaps the most convenient feature was the location.... More

We stayed at the charming 1720 House bed-and-breakfast in the winter, a few days before Christmas. The island was decked out with beautiful holiday lights and was delightfully quiet – none of the traffic or crowded restaurants and beaches of the high season. Our room was warm and cozy, spotlessly clean, and it had a view with a glimpse of... More
