Have gone to the Wayside Inn for many years and was looking forward to lunch. I agree with other reviewers that the quality of the food has slipped, Had lunch there recently and I was disappointed. The bread basket held two small muffins and a roll. They were served cold and had that day old quality to them. Ordered the... More

My wife and I have been enjoying Longfellow's Wayside Inn of over 30 years and we continue to love it. The Wayside has evolved with the times, but has remained remarkably affordable for the original Inn. It is in part supported by the Ford Foundation and the history is interesting to review. If you'd like to enjoy a true New... More

We came for lunch to celebrate my mother's 88th birthday and were stunned by the decline in quality of the food from a number of years back when it was quite good. The bread basket, appetizer salad, and clam chowder were good but the entrees/sides were little better than over-cooked cafeteria fare at a very large price. The roast lamb... More

Booked a last minute b-day getaway for my husband. They we very accomodating and had a room available. We also had dinner in the old kitchen which was very historic. There were only a few downsides to our stay. 1) Our room was extremely warm and there was no way to lower the temperature with out opening the window(which was... More

We have been visiting The Wayside Inn for 25 years... historic, cozy and charming...but when we saw the way the hostess was dressed in a black mini skirt, and three inch heels, I was taken back.. her dress was inappropriate for this historic Inn. I remember when everyone dressed in period clothes, it back you think you were back in... More

Went to a small wedding here and was seated near the door leading into the kitchen area. We could hear our servers making rude remarks about the guests from the interior. It went on and on throughout the entire event. Wow. That's the reason they expected a big tip no doubt!! The bride and groom did not know about this,... More

Hubby and I enjoyed an overnight stay on Monday of Thanksgiving week, a mini celebration for his 70th birthday. What a delightful time we had. It was quiet and the Inn felt as if it were almost our own. Like history? This is the place - in the middle of Colonial America - with Concord, Lexington and other famous places... More

We stayed at this inn because of a family connection to the original owners. We were very pleased to find the inn in a spectacular setting, with many acres of surrounding woods, streams, historic buildings and natural beauty. We stayed in one of the oldest rooms, and while it was spacious and comfortable and fascinating, the very narrow and twisting... More

I try to visit the Wayside Inn as often as I can for both the food, the drink and the experience. A National Historic Landmark located less than an hour from downtown Boston, this place will take you back in time! Imagine dining and sipping a "Coow Woow", America's oldest cocktail (Google it) with one of our nation's founders! The... More

We stayed at the Wayside Inn for one night in our stay -- they are a good deal for historic digs with a full breakfast (any delicious choice from their menu), but they were booked for the rest of our visit to MA. The Inn is both museum, restaurant, tavern and B&B on rolling acres of historic land that includes... More
