“It's an interesting place but comes up short”

The rooms are clean but the amenities are far and few between. With running "toilets" to rattling windows when the wind strikes you have to be into inns to appreciate. The saturday morning staff was excellent but other than that the rest of the staff is below average. There is no information available in the rooms except for dated magazines... More

Went to 2 weddings here. First was in 2005 and second in 2010. First wedding was upstairs in a hall. Descent food, good service, nice sized room. My nieces bridal shower was held at the Spencer Country Inn. The shower was originally booked for the weekend of Hurricane Irene. Multiple calls were made The day before to confirm that the shower would not be canceled. We were assured if they lost power, they had generators,and the shower would still take place..Several of our friends and relatives traveled... More

I just got home from a wedding at the Spencer Country Inn, and I was horrified! Food doesn't need to be fancy, but for a wedding, the kitchen staff should pretend that they care AT ALL about the quality of what they put out for the guests. The rolls were packaged and cold. We are sorry to read a review that was posted by a guest that was not aware of the menu selected by the Bride and Groom (who were pleased by the Reception and the Buffet). I can not say enough about how amazing Phyllis and her assistant Louise were in my wedding planning process. I was married in September 2009 off-site and we had our reception at the Spencer Country Inn. If I could relive that day a million times I would! “Do NOT stay at the guest house- it has not been updated in 30 years!”

We just stayed in the guest house for a wedding. Truthfully one of the worst hotels I have "paid" for. TV was a 13 inch black-n-white with rabbit ears. A phonejack was falling out of the wall- complete with exposed wires hanging out. The lamp next to the bed did not work, the room stunk of mildew.... the list goes... More
