Very expensive accommodations, and keep in mind that pictures ALWAYS look better than what it really looks like. We were soooo disappointed in our room. It was quite old and dated. Bathroom was substandard. Tiny shower (not sure how a heavier person could shower at all!), fixture caps missing. Breakfast was the same every morning (an egg “cup” and fruit). Parking is tricky in season. Honestly, the nicest thing about this place was the front porch and the view of the lovely flowers in front of the house across the street. That’s it! We felt robbed given what we paid—outrageous! Will never go back. Three stars is a generous review on our part.

My husband and I spend 3 nights in room 8 for our anniversary. We arrived early on Friday and was told our room was ready. We were shown to our room, which was on the second floor on a corner. The room was small, but had a queen bed and it’s own bathroom. The only downside was lack of a bureau or closet for clothes. It didn’t phase us at all. We’re light packers and just lived out of our carryons for the weekend. There is a continental breakfast daily starting at 8:00 am. There’s usually some sort of egg dish, fresh fruit, granola, yogurt etc. The best part of the inn is the front porch. We spent a lot of time there(sorry Woddy). We would have breakfast there in the morning. And a few drinks after dinner. All in all we loved the place. Woddy the manager, made sure we had everything we needed. He is definitely an asset the the inn. We will definitely be back!

Waddy at the front desk was one of the most pleasant and helpful hotel staff we have ever met. Bent over backward getting us situated and checked-in early. The morning snacks, the life music entertainment and yoga on the beach were stupendous for the busy summer season. In the middle of everything in Oak Bluffs. Honestly, it was one of the best stays, we are definitely coming back!

Narragansett House was a great choice for our weekend stay on MV. It’s a quaint Inn within walking to all thing Oak Bluff. We stayed in room 1 at the top of a very narrow and winding staircase. The room is small and bathroom was even smaller which we chuckled about, but it worked and very much fit the theme of the Inn. Room had a comfortable bed and small closet if needed. The best part is the private balcony facing street which allowed for enjoying coffee and saying hello to passerby’s. Waddy was most welcoming and very nice. Helped carry luggage up and would text in the evening with continental breakfast options for next morning. Convenient system to where he would text options and timeframe. In the morning you simply go downstairs at the predetermined time and a basket with you choice and room number was ready to grab and go. Coffee was always available and self serve. Waddy also provided a table on porch supplied with masks, hand sanitizer and thermometer which was great to have available when coming and going. Will stay here again upon a return trip.

The accommodations were cozy and sufficient. The rooms were acceptable but could have used storage and hanging options for towels and whatnot. We lived in our suitcases because there wasn't dressers. The breakfast options were limited both in quantities and volume. It staved off hunger. The real star that would bring us back would be the attendant, Waddy. He was very attentive and welcoming. If it was not for him, I don't think our stay would have been as pleasant.

When we came to Martha's Vineyard for the first time, my wife and I were incredibly lucky to stay at Narragansett House. I have stayed in very few places so open, welcoming, and comfortable. Aside from being beautiful, Narragansett House made us feel immediately at home. Kahina, Amanda, and Waddy greeted us like old friends from the first time we met. Everything felt like it was meant to happen: the music on the porch on Friday night, the Juneteenth events (we had no idea until we visited that there was such an important, rich Black legacy on Martha's Vineyard), and eating breakfast on the porch with other guests. We learned the history of the House and Oak Bluffs from the staff, other guests, and residents in the community who came by for the events. We walked down to the beach with our new friends for yoga in the morning led by Christopher--an experience I cannot recommend highly enough (and I'm not someone who does yoga regularly). The shops, restaurants, and sights of Oak Bluffs are around the block and the bus lines to other towns are right nearby. Everywhere we looked were gorgeous painted houses. My wife and I had come for a wedding on another part of the island, but we couldn't wait to return to our peaceful refuge at Narragansett House each day. We already can't wait to go back. Narragansett House is truly a special place.

What a lovely hotel and what a nice surprise. The rooms and house were a lot nicer than I thought it would be according to pictures I’d seen on here, I think this is because there are older pictures on here and there has been a major refurbishment since then. Very tastefully decorated. I’d say check out their actual website for more accurate pictures. Excellent service from the staff especially Waddy the manager, who is extra helpful. Excellent location right by Circuit avenue and just a 4 minute walk to the beach. One night they put on live music which was a lovely touch. They also did morning yoga on the beach but I never made that. They took excellent covid precautions throughout the stay. I can’t wait to visit and stay again. This place truly is a gem!

Just returned from our new favorite B&B on Martha’s Vineyard and we simply can’t stop thinking about our relaxing time at the Narrangansett House. We felt right at home in this Victorian cottage. The hospitality was outstanding!! Waddy greeted us on arrival and ensured we were well cared for. Masks worn and all “no contact” safety precautions were adhered to by staff and guests throughout our stay. The perfect small inn for simply relaxing on the cheerful porch and beautiful garden or strolling to all that Oak Bluffs offers — quaint shops, beaches, restaurants, and the ferry are in walking distance. We appreciated the breakfast basket delivered to our door each morning with coffee/tea and baked goods from local spots. We stayed in room 14, a newly renovated room on the main floor (it can be combined with room 12 for a family suite) and we adored its fresh decor and small balcony with screen door for catching the sea breeze (there is also air conditioning). Can’t wait to return!!

We had a very lovely stay at Narragansett House. India & her staff were very accommodating. We had a bottle of Prosecco & a card waiting for us in the room. It was clean and welcoming. The breakfasts and afternoon treats were scrumptious. The room was cozy and very island-y. It’s centrally locates to all Oak Bluffs has to offer. We will be back! Karen & Tom
