The new owners have made sure that the rooms are clean, airy and very comfortable. We had a one night stay - on route to a meeting close by. We were welcomed by Vicky (manager) nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant - first class meal and excellent service. Then before leaving we had a lovely breakfast to... More

Well you read reports from people that really have nothing better to do then ruin peoples reputations. Christopher H report below is totally inaccurate considering the new owners have been in place for a long period of time and Carole Decker and her Husband have not been the owners since December 2011. So Christopher H how do you explain your... More

As a local to the area , I have known the Cherry tree for many years and recently visited to experience this pub under the new management and was very pleased. We had a great meal and found the new decor and the garden to be very relaxing, welcoming and child friendly. The B&B rooms also looked lovely.Highly recommend this lovely... More

We had been for an evening meal a few weeks earlier and one of us had a pork dish which was delicious and one had a steak which was good but minute in size. We decided today to try lunch and both decided on the pork dish. Unfortunately it seemed to have been cooked well in advance of serving .... More

I used to really like the Cherry Tree for Sunday lunch, but the new menu? Forget it. The food itself is excellent, hence the stars, but after they suggested some bread and olives - sounded good, yes please - and then counted it as two starters and charged us £12 for it, no thank you. We paid without making a... More

Well done the new managers of this iconic Brakspear leasehold...wonder how long before their patience also runs out with the brewer?! Anyway, a great new start earlier this year for this well loved pub set in the South Oxfordshire countryside only a few lengths [sic] from Henley-on-Thames. Visited with my wheelchair bound mother-in-law and our warm & friendly welcome was... More

Disregard reviews before mid January 2013 it's under new management and they are doing a great job. The food is very good with a wide choice of options and prices. The service is friendly and the ambiance of the old building is pleasing. The toilets were very clean. I was checking this Inn out as a base for a walk... More

We stayed overnight at The Cherry Tree Inn at the end of March. We were given an extremely warm welcome by the manager who carried our luggage to our room. He explained there was no wi-fi in the room but we were welcome to use the free wi-fiin the lounge at any time during our stay. This didn't worry us... More

The Cherry Tree Inn accommodation comprises of a 4 room, detached single story barn conversion which runs alongside the pub separated from the pub by around 4 meters. The staff running the pub are nice and friendly and the pub itself is absolutely lovely ! But I thought that the room I had (Pear) was not worth £85 for the... More

We called in for lunch and had a warm welcome into a lively bar. Food was superb, well presented and delicious and fairly priced, service was good. The pub had a lovely atmosphere and ambiance. Lovely open fire in the bar with separate dining areas. Had a fabulous Sunday afternoon soiree.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Beautiful pub/inn/restaurant in Stoke Row, in the heart of the South Oxfordshire countryside in the Chiltern Hills. Elegant, chic design gives a warm, inviting feeling and the overall ethos of The Cherry Tree is one of comfort, enjoyment and relaxation. Food is key here with bi monthly menu changes of seasonal produce. Well kept beers, fantastic wines and great champagnes make this a place for a weekend away with a loved one, catch up with friends or equally happy catering for corporate groups. Likewise, it is a wonderful local pub in a beautiful Oxfordshire village. Four en-suite letting rooms in the barn are fresh, crisp, elegant and clean and most comfortable. Overall, a wonderful experience and not to be missed if in this part of the country. There is a definite air of class about this place and the London set flock to it in droves for a great country fix. ... more   less
