Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very clean and I felt secure traveling solo, so much so that I booked another Microtel for later in the trip. Breakfast was odd, with powdered scrambled eggs. Heavy on starches (packaged muffins, bagels) but no toast? odd. The hotel was extremely short staffed but the few staff there did all they could.

Staff was very unwilling to fulfill our needs. When we checked in we asked to be upgraded to a bigger room after seeing how small our dwelling was. Did not look like the picture at all. We were willing to pay more for the bigger room obviously but they did not allow it. Will not be back.

We stayed here for 2 nights over Thanksgiving, to be near family. The staff, Mariah and Matthew at the desk, were very friendly and nice. The rooms were clean, beds OK, breakfast was adequate (although they didn't refill anything the second morning - I got more bagels out of the little kitchen myself). Breakfast was: coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juices, bagels, English muffins, small yogurts, 4 different cold cereals, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, waffles (that you make in the waffle maker), oranges. Drinks were available 24/7. Pool was open (indoors) - no hot tub. We had to move rooms as the room we were assigned had a very noisy heater, and we didn't get much sleep. The location was great - right off the highway, easy to find.

The assistant manager Jacob Dayton was extremely rude to an older couple who were guests at the hotel. He appeared to have anger management issues as he screamed at the older couple in a very unprofessional manner. It was clear he was intimidating the couple and this was uncomfortable for others in the hotel. They were not yelling back at him so it was not necessary to have him yell at the older couple.

The room was fine, but it was small and looking a tad rundown. The mattresses were pretty bad (we were in a 2Q room so swapped from one bed to the other, but no difference) so it was hard to get a good night's sleep. Room, bathroom, bedding, linens all clean, no strange odors anywhere. Lobby area and breakfast were also fine. However, given the room size and tiredness, there is no way I'd pay full-rate to stay here (It was $285 for Sat night in August... but I had rewards points so it was free).

Small rooms. Great location. Breakfast food- just so,so. Staff was okay. This place is all about the location. It is close to the outlet shops in Kittery, Maine. If you are heading out on a shopping expedition, this is a convenient place to stay.

Small rooms but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. We spent two nights for a wedding and it served its purpose. It was also very quiet and conveniently located. The breakfast was a typical hotel breakfast, eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, bagels and English muffins.

Rooms are clean, it small and outdated. Stuffy/humid smell, and carpet is gross in hallways and rooms. Unfortunate, since the lobby and reception is nice! The pool is really old and needs a refresh, the hot tub is non-existant (covered up ). Bed sheets to small for bed, so keeps coming off at night, and mattress exposed (ewwwwww…) The 2-stars may not be enough.

Stayed here July 2023. The walls are paper thin. I was awoken early in the morning by guests upstairs throwing a golf ball on the floor and Microtel refuses to partially refund my stay. I was also harassed by the neighbooring guest in the morning because my "tv was to loud".. it was on 15. I would not recommend staying here as this company does not care about their customers experience as long as they get there money.

Unfortunately I did not get to pick the location for my visit as I was traveling for work. Overall the hotel was EXTREMELY noisy. I could hear every word from the people on either side of me and above me. Sleep was impossible all week. Also, breakfast was supposed to be available at 6:30 and never was. Those of us traveling for work were very disappointed by this.
