This two room gem advertises itself as a vegetarian/vegan B&B. This should not dissuade the meat-eaters if fresh, organic, innovative, and just plain delicious matters. You won't gp hungry and you'll recognize everything offered in the diverse breakfasts served. The inn is a stone's throw from US Route 1 and Penobscot Bay in the historic midcoast town of Searsport, about...

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Elm Cottage-- we only wish we had stayed longer. When we arrived, Janet welcomed us with tea and zucchini bread as well as activity and restaurant recommendations. We stayed in the gardenview room, which was large, clean, comfortable, and cozy. We used the free wifi to plan our days and looked...

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience briefly staying at the Elm Cottage, a vegan / vegetarian Bed & Breakfast in Searsport, Maine (near Belfast). Meeting the proprietor Janet felt like getting back in touch with a long lost, caring relative. We were extremely late to arrive, and she waited up for us and even called to check...

The Elm Cottage is quiet, welcoming, beautifully decorated, and surrounded by beautiful gardens. Two wonderfully comfortable rooms each with private bath and luxurious towels. Substantial breakfast. Vegetarian and vegan. Dogs and cats. Steps from water. Small restaurants and bookstore. And terrific marine museum as well as captain houses and library. Website offers lots of Maine information.

We were so happy to find that the Elm Cottage is as wonderful this year as it was last year. Please see my review from last year for more information. We hope to be back again.

A three night stay over 4th of July weekend. The place is tastefully decorated, very low doily quotient, with good sized rooms and a wonderful host. I'm not a vegan and am a bit of a foodie but I was more than impressed. Janet is a great host and can be quite accommodating.

Janet was an absolute dear! Besides her adorable b&b being right near the sea, the best thing about staying at Elm's Cottage was the food, of course, and Janet's company. The beds were amazingly soft..sweet dreams are sure to be had by anyone who visits!
