It's nice to have a guest mention our pool room! The Prohibition-era billiard room is one of the features that makes The Danforth so unique. We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay and look forward to seeing you again if your travels bring you to Portland. More

The Danforth has great ambiance and potential , but no TV and internet that works in one of the wings. Ask about that before youbook if those services matter to you. We assumed that these would be available, but they werenpt. Nor were we warned that they would not be available or offered a room that would have them.

We are so sorry one of the TVs was out in your suite upon your visit. We hope you were able to make use of the TV in the sitting area during your stay. We also are addressing the spotty WIFI issue and that should be fixed soon. We are glad you enjoyed our location and the beauty of The... More

This was not only my first time in Portland, but also my first time staying at a B&B. I went there with my girlfriend for our 5 year anniversary and we were NOT disappointed. Wonderful staff, large & clean rooms all updated but with a nice classic feel to them. Breakfast was fantastic.

The vine covered historical brick building is charming, and just a brief walk to the Old Port, the busy marina, and the ferry dock. The large windows and chandelier over the staircase give a nostalgic feel of yesteryear. My room's all white decor was so relaxing, and the bed was made for royalty. I truly had the best night's sleep... More

We are so glad you loved your stay at The Danforth. Our location is -- as we say -- "quiet but close!" We agree that the staircase and chandelier are spectacular. The next time you visit, please make sure to take advantage of our prohibition-era billards room and roof-top cupola! More

I have to admit, this was our first time staying in a bed & breakfast, and I'm so glad I did! The innkeepers (Holly & Justin) were incredibly accomodating and welcoming. The Danforth is a perfect mix of old school charm and modern updates, and it is also extremely close to restauants in Old Port, which could be walked to,... More

Thank you for your lovely review. It's nice to hear you found the inn quiet and comfortable -- even with lots of guests. We are so glad you enjoyed all our lovely common spaces. On your next visit, grab a beer, glass of wine or soda from Justin (one of our resident managers and a Certified Sommelier!) and check out... More

This was our first stop on a 2 week New England trip from London. Looking back now the Danforth remains one of our favourite places to stay, and all were good! Holly and Justin helpfully found us great choices for local eating and we also walked to and from the Old Port to eat (though it is a distance). Very... More

Had nice relaxing stay @ The Danforth and Holly & Justin are terrific, very nice and helpful. Room was nice with distant water view, comfortable bed, big closet and roomy bathroom. Wasn't too bad climbing up to the 3rd floor. Walking distance to some good restaurants and short 5-10 minute drive to others. Close to Old Port area for shopping... More

Relaxing stays are what we are aiming for at The Danforth. So glad Holly & Justin made your stay delightful and that you enjoyed so many aspects of our intimately sized Portland boutique hotel. You are so right about the off-street parking! It is hard to come by and something we are glad to offer guests. We look forward to... More

We had a wonderful stay at the Danforth. Our room was very comfortable and clean. The rooms have been recently renovated. Our bathroom was new and spotless. It is fairly easy walking distance to some good restaurants in Longfellow Square, although we did drive to Old Port for dinners twice (short, easy drive). We had gourmet breakfasts each morning and... More

I just came back from a stay at the Danforth. I recommend it to anyone. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. And the breakfast was excellent. I wish I had some criticism to offer. It could have been a little closer to Portland's attractions. But the short walk or drive is a fair trade off... More
