The Maine Northwoods offer so much. Hiking, photography, walking great sleeping, beautiful lakes, wild animals and quietness. AMC offers cabins with porches facing Long Lake with rocking chairs on each porch for watching the sun set over the lake and possibly seeing a moose and many water birds. The service is superior. We stayed in a lakeside cabin at Gorman for 4 nights in August. The setting is beautiful - on a lake amid mountains, the cabin was clean and comfortable, the lodge (with bathrooms and showers) was convenient, the meals at the new lodge were excellent and the staff was friendly and helpful.
