Jen and I just spent 4 days at Penny's this month where we have visited faithfully once or twice a year for maybe six years or so? She never disappoints with her fantastic breakfasts and wonderful accommodations. We typically stay in the room on the first floor with its private balcony and it has been our "home away from home".... More

I couldn't have asked for more. The owner Penny Barabe promptly answered all questions and was very easy to work with. The food was amazing, my friends are still raving about it a month later. The view/setting was unmatched. And most importantly, our families got to hang out all weekend at the house as if it were our own. My... More

We chose The Mooring to view the 8/31/12 blue moon, which decided to hide, but in all other respects a perfect spot on the wild Maine coast south of Bath. Former home of the Walter Reid who donated the land for the nearby state park of the same name, The Mooring was lovingly updated and is run by his granddaughter,... More

My husband and I stayed at The Mooring to celebrate our one-year wedding anniversary for a few days in late July. The property is beautiful and incredibly remote, which was just what we were looking for. We had a nice private deck off of our room which we used quite a bit and was also a great spot to hang... The Mooring B&B in Georgetown was exactly what I was looking for in a weekend with my girlfriend: ocean-front, quiet, gorgeous house, amazing and considerate service, and close (but not too close) to Portland. Penny, the innkeeper, runs a B&B the way it should be, with fantastic amenities and a light touch. I'd go again the next time I'm in... More

My friend and I just got back from a one-night stay at The Mooring on Georgetown Island on our way home from Camden. It's a gorgeous location and a perfect place for an ocean-front wedding, which appears to be one of its draws. The driveway leading to the house is lined with white hydrangea trees and the gardens are filled... More

Upscale B&B directly oceanfront with elegant grounds to explore. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable; we had the downstairs room with porch facing the ocean. Penny has thought of everything you would ever need to make your visit welcoming, Fresh blueberry muffins and drinks, hot and cold, always available. Breakfast was exceptional, buffet style and delicious.Cheese, crackers and wine for... More

My wife and I stayed here on our way to Camden. It was so delightful. We wish we could have stayed more than one night but that was our fault. The breakfast was delish. The view was amazing. See our photos. The owner operator cooked the breakfast and she was very personable and attentive.

We just came back from spending three nights at the Moorings. This is a great location for accessing Reid State Park and surrounding town of Five Islands. We have been coming to this area for years and really enjoyed our stay at the Moorings. The place is spotless with great service and the owner was a wonderful host full of... More

We stayed for 4 nights at The Mooring and thoroughly enjoyed our stay despite the 10-12 mile trek to civilization. That being said, there are several really great eating spots within 5-6 miles as well including a fun lobster harbor dockside restaurant a mile away. This B&B is very much "as advertised" with all rooms having an open view of... More
