Milliken House is a charming B&B within a three minute walk to Eastport's harbor area, and the town center. Eastport is a relaxing, low-key little town and from the moment you walk into Milliken House and meet Mary, you'll wonder why it took you so long to find this very special part of Maine. Mary prepares a sumptuous breakfast every... More

Eastport is a cute little town in a gorgeous part of Maine. It's the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor. Milliken House is a grand old Victorian lady with tons of period detail including marble fireplaces, flocked wallpaper, and original light fixtures. We stayed in the third floor suite which was perfectly suited for us and... More

After reading KatieMay2's review, I just had to respond. Hope you print this. I recently purchased a House just down the street from the Milliken. It, like the Milliken was built "around" 1822 (none of us know for sure because the British Red Coats burned down the Town Hall and the records were lost). After reading KM2's review..... I searched... More

The town of Eastport, Maine, and this B & B in particular, are a step back in time. Walking hilly streets and enjoying the far water views and period architecture and finding a good place for a meal kept us entertained. Few shops were open because we were here too early for "the season" - that is, first week of... More

Sure I took a second look when I saw the skeleton key lock and the bed room doors didn't lock on the third floor, but I'm just as much a trusting person as Mary, as I own and operate a B&B and we don't think of others as strangers in our home but as guests soon to be made new... More

I couldn't help but respond to a previous review by katiemay2. There are a couple of points that should be looked at: 1-you checked in because there was nothing else available in Eastport: plan better prior to your next trip, but don't hold someone else responsible for your lack of effort. Eastport isn't a major metropolis where you'll find a... More

We stayed on a Monday night in September just a week after the local pirate festival and the town was dead. The charming hostess just lost her husband to a heart attack a month earlier, the poor thing. We were given the best room in the house with all the original Victorian details. The bed was a little too short... More

We reluctantly checked in here because there was nothing else available in Eastport. We were offered a couple of different rooms. The first was a suite with a bedroom and a living area with a bed (which is where our two youngs girls would have slept). However there was NO door closing that section to the rest of the house!... Upon entering Milliken House, we felt like we'd stepped back in time to a place of quaint charm and sophistication. The atmosphere was casual elegance but yet allowed a relaxed, comfortable feel. Bill and Mary were very hospitable, as was Greg. They all took the time to make sure our short stay was pleasant. The evening fire was set in... More

We arrived here from Bar Harbor, which we loved, planned to stay 1 night and move on the next day. But Mary was such a perfect host that we stayed 3 nights! We met very interesting guests each morning over wonderful breakfasts, received great tips on all the local attractions including restaurants and had a relaxing time. Mary and her... More
