First trip to Barren River SRP. The lodge room, restaurant, and Highland Meeting Room were outstanding. A short menue, perhaps abbreviated for off season. Had the Hot Brown, a Kentucky original which is really bad if it is made poorly; and really great if made correctly. BRSRP gets an A+ on this one. Plenty of gooey melted cheese, crumbled bacon,... We stayed at the lodge for the January sandhill crane watch. Our room was clean and we loved the back porch, it was great for some easy bird watching. It was winter so we did not get to enjoy much of the park, but would stay at the lodge again.

Being a local and always looking for a good home cooked meal, Driftwood Restaurant has a great buffet. The food is always good and tastes homemade. Prices are more than reasonable. Atmosphere is homey. Great monthly special dinner events also. Well worth the trip out even if you don't stay at the lodge. As far as I'm concerned, it's one... More

A fishing buddy of mine and I have been to Barren River a number of times over the last few years. We always stay in one of the cabins, usually the Executive cabins. We love the space, the fully equipped kitchen and the extra bathroom for the two of us. The porch and the screened in breeze way are great... More

My family, which is quite large 40-50 of us, have held our family reunion here for probably 15 of the last 20 years. The resort grounds are really nice as far as being clean and littered with deer and other wildlife. The golf course is also really nice. We stay in the cabins and they are always clean and are... We stayed 2 nights at the State Park & it greatly exceeded our expectations! We took an "impromptu" trip during the week, expecting standard, musty hotel rooms...We were pleasantly surprised. The Lodge rooms were spacious and clean. We brought our pontoon & had planned to spend most of our time on the lake. However, the Park offered numerous activities for... More

I and a group of friends (two families with very young children) stayed at BRLR for a getaway weekend in the off-season and we were very pleased with the 2 BR cottages we stayed at. The cottages, themselves, seem solidly constructed with well-thought out floorplans. Amenities were shared; one BR had an en suite bathroom, the other had deck access.... More

We went on a family vacation to Barren River Lake to celebrate Dad's 80th Birthday. There were 11 of us, adults, teens and one younger child. We stayed in 2 beach cottages, right next to each other, for 3 nights and loved it. We didn't have a view of the beach, but I never understood that we would have a... More

Wish I read July review. We were told beach cottage, lake view. Only if you bring a chainsaw and cut down the trees. and no beach. They charged us EXTRA for the fourth night. Rude staff. Cottages in need on renovation. Great golf course though and great place to fish, however, bring your own boat and I don't think I... More

We went there for the Beach, We called and were told how nice the beach was with lots of activities..they failed to mention it was closed..what a wasted 3 hour drive to Nothing to Do..we golfed, rode horses and sat at the filthy cabin and the pool, B-O-R-I-N=G......Then the people at the boat rentals tried to over charge us in...
