A university city has to have hotel space for visitors, and Iowa House--located at one end of the student Memorial Union Building--fills the bill for the University of Iowa. This hotel's five stories offer clean and convenient accommodation, typically with two double beds, clean bathroom, excellent internet access (wifi and ethernet), and lots of peace and quiet. I was delivered... More

Very old, but this is a perfect spot if you have a very big wedding. You can utilize the giant ballroom of the Iowa Memorial Union and have all your guests in the hotel. This is a one stop shop, wedding, reception, and hotel all in one facility. There is also in-house restaurant and catering available. The hotel rooms are... More

For those visiting the University of Iowa, the location can't be beat since the hotel is located right on campus. I stayed 3 nights and paid $80 per night for a standard room. Perks included 1) clean room, 2) flat screen tv w/ bluray player, 3) complimentary bagels and orange juice offered every morning 4) free wifi (wifi seems to... More

My wife and I satyed there for 2 nights in this place, this is a clean place with convinient location, polite staff, walking distance to downtown, reasonable price and good breakfast, the only problem we had was the bath tub drain which was not draining water well, other than that, everything else was perfect.

Stayed on the executive floor for two weeks. This recently renovated floor costs $20 more per night, but is worth every penny! The new linens are stylish and incredibly soft; the decor is modern and sleek; these rooms have a mini fridge, microwave, Keurig machine (and the maids keep those K cups coming), flat screen tv, and blu-ray player. The... More

I set my wife up here because I was going to come he next next day with family and wanted to make it simple for her to get around. Everything was is walking distance. I decided to tag along and now we both wish we'd stayed at the Holiday Inn Express!! The room was small, the bathroom ancient, we could... More

When reading reviews, one must understand that everyone comes to a hotel with different expectations and desires. With that said, I must say that everyone in my group felt that our suite was very nice!! It wasn't fancy, but we had a spacious corner suite with great views. We had 2 bathrooms in our suite, and while the water pressure... More

Was here for a conference. Sort of a cross between a dorm and a prison. Very spartan and I wasn't so sure about the bathroom (really new for the 50s). Breakfast provided but, ahem, rubbery bagels not exactly my cup of tea. That said the location almost makes up for it. Right in the middle of campus and beside the... More

If you’d like to stay right on the university campus this is the place to be. We came to visit the college with our senior and we were there for the Hawkeye Day visit (which was run extremely well!). The Hotel has refurbished some of the rooms but not all of them, so if you want to save a little... More
