First off, I was upgraded to the presidential suite, so I can't say that this is true of all rooms. My room was great, especially the shower. They don't have a tub in that suite, its just a tiled floor shower like you would see in a nice home. The rooms are nice, new, and really great. There is a... More

I was really impressed with the embassy suite of Des Moines. I arrived here for a business conference and was happy the organization chose such a nice complex. The main entrance and atrium are very welcoming and beautiful, especially with the top to bottom waterfalls. Its a very nice look, but it can be kind of loud if you are... More

This is probably the nicest Embassy Suites I have ever stayed in. The rooms were very large and recently renovated, the common areas were beautiful. Really nice place. I liked that within walking distance in the "arts" area there were a lot of cute, local restaurants, or you could cross the river and go into downtown. Breakfast was good too,... More

After a conference in downtown Des Moines, I checked into the Embassy Suites on the River for some much-needed relaxation. Out the window of my 5th floor suite I could watch the lazy river. Also, there were several spots in front of the hotel to sit by the river’s edge. The hotel has a marvelous (and warm) indoor swimming pool... More

I just spent two nights at the Embassy Suites in Des Moines. The hotel is pretty much like any Embassy Suites. However, since it is downtown it does not offer free parking. The suite I stayed in had a free standing shower and water splashed onto the bathroom floor. The mattress was really worned. One night I slept on one... More

This is the place to stay in Des Moines. Very clean and well maintained. Best thing is the room service. Food is excellent and served hot. Only negative is that the maid didn't speak english, and she didn't understand I was asking for a plastic laundry bag. No big thing. We were at a mutual disadvantage: She didn't speak english,... This is my favorite hotel in the State of Iowa. I'm a Hilton Gold Member and they treat HHonors members quite well. For $150 with tax on a weekend, you get free breakfast for up to 4 (save $40) and free alcohol for a couple of hours (save $100+!). Additionally, the suites are amazing--it's especially nice to have the living... More

This hotel is how chain hotels should be. The suite was perfectly appointed and comfortable, with a mini wet bar area, a good-sized sitting room with desk and tv, and a typical bedroom with a comfortable king bed and another television. The view onto the river and downtown was a plus. I actually enjoyed spending relaxing time in my hotel... More
