We were only able to stay 4 nights but it was the hi-lite of 2 months in Fiji and Tonga. Matafunoa has comfortable bures, great location, good swimming off two beaches, exceptional meals and friendly, knowledgeable staff. Plus Darren and Gary took us on one of the best snorkelling excursions ever! Would like to have stayed longer.

I cannot say enough good things about Darrell, Nina, and Matafonua Lodge. The place is ridiculously beautiful. Complete with white sand beaches in front of the lodge and bungalows and also nearby rocky beaches wonderful for exploring and finding seashells. In January we had a wonderful week here. The fales (beachside bedroom houses) are basic but have the most beautiful views and nice little balconies. The restaurant has a different menu every evening - inlcuding curry, traditional Tongan, BBQ and more. The daytime menu has good basic burgers and pizze.
