We booked this motel after having a miserable night in another motel in town. We found our room at the J & R Inn to be everything the other motel was not. My husband & I drove to Soda Springs to take care of my son's gravesite..It was his first time in Soda Springs..WOW what a HORRIBLE reprsentation of the town!!!! I couldn't find anything else, and it was a bit on the scary side. My room smelled like rodents, and it was confirmed when a fairly large rat ran over my feet while I was sleeping. We could not leave this place fast enough. It was 95 degess and they have no AC. In fact, the sign at the hotel desk say "No AC, never had it, never will". I have nightmares thinking about what the UV light would show. We are so thankful they lost our room reservation and could not get to Pocotello fast... More

It was a Monday night at the end of July and we had difficulty locating available rooms for the upcoming Friday in the Montpelier, Lava Hot Springs area.
