My husband and I came to Talus Rock after a different hotel reservation in Sandpoint turned out to be subpar. We called last minute to check on vacancy and by some miracle they still had a room available! We arrived and felt instant warmth. Owner Heather opened the door and said how happy she was we were there, a sentiment... More

I have yet to find a place as wonderful as this. Thank you, Talus Rock! Clean. Peaceful. Private. Kindest People. You guys are amazing. How you accomodated our circumstances is beyond belifef and we are so appreciative. I loved having my own "kitchen/sitting room" off to the side in the house. The themes of the home are fabulous and so... More

My husband and I had the wonderful pleasure of staying at the Talus Rock Retreat this April. Our stay in the Arbor Room was an excellent choice for us! The room and this property are spectacular, and so is the incredible hospitality extended by our host Heather. Sandpoint is a great place and everywhere we went, locals we met expressed... More

This was our first B&B experience, and we were a bit apprehensive, Needlessly so. This was not about going into a strangers home - this was more like visiting an old friend. We were made to feel so welcome and so comfortable. Heather is Great. Her home is absolutely amazing. We found it very peaceful and quiet. We definitely plan... More

We stayed, sadly, only one night in the Arbor room. We sprung our arrival on Heather, arriving at least a couple hours early due to time-zone confusion. (I say "at least" because we still aren't really sure just how off our schedule was that day!) Even though Heather had a million and one things to do before we were supposed... More

We were gifted a stay at the Talus Rock Retreat so had no idea going into it what to expect. Let me just say, from the moment we drove up we were blown away! You are greeted by a gorgeous castle-like exterior that instantly lets you know you are in for something special. Everything about this place is inviting and... More

Amazing place, the home looks like it is 100 years old, beautifully conceived, built to high standard, decor is fascinating, fellowship even better! Would highly recommend this to anyone needing some respite. No sign for Talus Rock itself, so pay attention to excellent directions! (North Division is just Division on the sign.) Excellent location, so close to Sandpoint and Ponderay!

The Talus Rock certainly exceeded all my expectations when I reserved the Arbor room for Valentines Day. Aside from the Tuscany "castle" looking exterior and the very eclectic, but all complementary, decor and furnishings, Heather (the owner) and Leah made sure all our needs were handled in professional and friendly manner. The grounds were absolutely stunning, even with a foot... More

My husband and I spent 3 glorious days at Talus Rock Retreat this past weekend and came home with a new found sense of serenity in life. The house is an architectural gem and is filled with the warmth of Heather and her families' amazing spirits. The views are phenomenal and beg you to sit with a cup of coffee... More

After a stressful few months, a serene getaway retreat was needed. Since I would be traveling alone, I did much research as I wanted to feel safe but not feel completely alone. I'm so glad that I discovered Talus Rock. Talus Rock has a special and healing energy about it. Heather was an amazing host and made me feel right... More
