I take a trip to Helen each year, and since '07 when I stayed at Sylvan Valley, I won't stay anywhere else. I love the place and recommend it to my friends up from Atlanta. The proprietors are friendly, helpful, and know the local GA wine scene as well as anyone. The rooms are well-appointed and a cut above the... More

My husband and I spent a weekend here and absolutely loved it! The location was EXCELLENT for us because we didn't want to be in town, yet it was a convenient short drive if we wanted to go. The room was very quaint and charming, exactly what my husband and I like. No cookie cutter hotel room here. Very clean,... More

My husband and I recently stayed at Sylvan Vally Lodge with our daughters (ages 1 and 3) and had a great weekend! We stayed in one of the cabins and it was perfectly sized for our needs. Had a mini-fridge and microwave, which made it very easy for between-meal snacks and early breakfasts for the girls. Our cabin was decorated... More

will post pics soon but in a nutshell, we paid half price and still paid $300 for 2 nights stay. very disappointing. rooms were more like a motel than a premium room that we were told. cheap mismatched fixtures that look like bought at dollar store, torn draperies, shower head coming off wall, cracked old bathroom tiles, ac that just... My husband told me that i have to view this place like I would look at staying at someone's house....not like a hotel.....so I have done that and well here are some of my thoughts.... Today is our last day here and well our stay was nice and simple. The proprietors are friendly, but they do not provide anything a... More

We have stayed here probably about 10 times over the past 20 years. This Wine Highway Weekend we stayed at Bernies which has horrible wishing we stayed here. We love Sylvan Valley Lodge and friends stayed her this weekend and were happy with it. Spring Wine Highway weekend we stayed here and it was great. At one point we stayed... More

Stayed for one night in early September while enjoying a visit to some North Georgia wineries. As soon as we pulled into the parking lot we were filled with doubts and they were well founded. The grounds are overgrown, the outdoor paintwork is grubby and peeling in places and the garden would benefit from some attention. We were greeted by... More

We began a re-branding and renovation of the property in November 2010. We worked with General Contractors, Landscape Architects and Interior Designers during the Winter and Spring to create upgrade plans originally scheduled to begin mid to late Summer of 2011. However, due to scheduling conflicts on both sides, the work will not begin until this November and carry through... More

My husband and I stayed in this lovely inn utilizing the Wine Highway Weekend package.....which included everything we needed for a perfect wine tasting weekend with with friends. The Vines Restaurant located in the Inn was wonderful. The highlight of the weekend was the exquisite wine pairing dinner on Saturday night. The host and chef were extremely knowledgeable making for... More

Thank you for your wonderful review of your experience at our Lodge. We look forward to hosting you again. I wanted to note a few changes we have made since your last visit. In November of 2010, we changed the name to Sylvan Valley Lodge. In January of 2011, we closed The Vines restaurant and began making changes to position... More

My husband and I travel to Helen for the Oktoberfest celebration about every other year and always try to stay at one of the area's more unique accommodations. For our 2009 jaunt, my husband chose Edelweiss Inn. I was initially more than a little put off by the no-nonsense reception with which we were greeted, but later cordiality and excellent... More

If you're looking for the flavor of Germany in the mountains of Georgia, this is the place for you. The Inn is 3 miles south of Helen, away from the crowds and the noise and comes as close to replicating an alpine setting as you'll find anywhere in Helen. We booked a Queen room (#15) which had a small balcony.... More
