Positives included: Good value for the money.....Clean......Helpful, friendly staff.....Heated Pool.....Fridge & microwave in room.....Good Location (though >1/2 mile from beach).....Bikes for rent....Lots of restaurants close nearby.....Watching dolphins from wharf.......National Park just down the road--well worth seeing & trolly tour was worthwhile. I reserved a room for one night with a 50% deposit. I cancelled the reservation more than 30 days prior to the date. I was charged $25 "to process the credit refund on the credit card." I have never had a hotel charge this fee for a cancellation. Be aware.

I was in shock at how spotlessly clean, updated, and spacious our room was. I was expecting Sanibel to have gouge-out-your eyes prices for a room and was fully prepared to drive to Ft. Anchor Inn is an older property-from 1950's I was told. is appealing for its quaintness-tables outside the tidy room for evening relaxation and socialization.
