This is a hard review to write, but it was the dirtiest, most unkempt place we have ever stayed in. We don't mind staying in older places, but this place is falling in on itself. Started with no signage to even find our cabin. The porch boards are rotting and very close to caving in. The cabin itself was so... More

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at Old Salt Works. We stayed 4 nights in Lee. The cabin is rustic and charming with all the ammenities. There is an outdoor shower with hot water that we used every day. You canto gaze over thethis bay while youyou bathe. Be sure to bring bug spray if you want to... More

Let me say first and foremost I had contacted the owner's directly regarding a negative review. Not only did Rachel reply back promptly she was very open and communicative in regard to my questioning. It's difficult to trust what someone says - owner or traveler with having never seen the property. There is a always going to be some leap... More

The place was beautiful. It was peaceful, quiet and we stayed in the Lookout Cabin. Nice nature trials and the views were amazing. loved the piers that led out to the bay. Will definitely be back.

First off let me say that Cape San Blas has very limited lodging. If you want to rough it and are ok with true rustic cabins, then any of the cabins in Old Saltworks is fine. We are not into the whole roughing thing when it comes to the beach and have found the only descent houses Old Salt Work’s... More

My late father loved this part of Florida, The Forgotten Coast. From Mexico Beach (his fav) to Apalachicola & St George Island. He mentioned Old Saltworks often. We have stayed here several times with our dogchild (always with us when we travel). The Reed cabin once but The Bay House is our favorite. Right on the Bay with great views... More

I read the reviews before we booked our cabin at Old Saltworks, and I really wasn't sure what to think. I am a clean freak and a bedbug-phobe, so the negative reviews really worried me. On the other hand I have done a lot of camping a don't expect a stay in the woods to be free of bugs and... More

Just stayed there last week for 8 nights of hell. Heavy BLACK MOLD coverering the bedroom ceiling and living room area, including the air ducts. The floors were dirty and the carpet was joined together by about 12 ft. of silver duct tape. In the bathroom there was also quite a bit of mold and the vinyl around the shower... More

We stayed in the Lookout Cabin and it was just fine... The shower was a tad bit small but I used the outdoor shower the rest of my visit.. it was big and I just really took to taking showers outside... I have become quite a fan! anyways... the bed was acceptable, nothing plush, there were two big stuffed chairs... More

My husband had reserved a cabin at the Old Salt Works for our wedding anniversary/my 40th birthday/the honeymoon we never had. I love the beaches on the Cape and had stayed in some other cabins that were nearby many years ago so I was quite excited for the trip. I was also thrilled that pets were allowed which meant I...
