We camped 8 days and loved it. Camper sites were always kept clean wonderful family atmosphere quiet even before the 10'oclock quiet time even though the campground was full. our only recommendation is that people walking their dogs should be required to use pooper scoopers and dispose of properly even the ones with the big motorhomes and there should be... When it's spring break and you want a wholesome family place to go....good luck! Fort Pickens is a safe wonderful place to enjoy a relaxing stress free vacation. The park is full of retired folks and young families- no unruly party kids or drunken idiots to be vulgar or foolish. The views are spectacular, the fort has great history, the... More

We camped here a few weeks ago (Feb 2012). Let me start out by saying this isn't the Fort Pickens Campground I remember as a kid. After Hurricane Ivan it has changed, not as many trees and shade and I think it's probably taking a while for some of the wild life to come back too which is sad. But... More

We camped in our travel trailer in July 2011. Stayed on loop e, site 22. Great site. Could walk a few feet to the bay. Negative things about the trip: Hot, bugs and bathrooms clean but rustic. The positives out weigh the negative. Beautiful private beaches (no crowds, no condos, no high-rises). Wildlife was increbible. Plenty of bike and walking... More

Not a bad experience if you don't mind parking your rig in an open treeless area, somewhat like a big parking lot with grass between sites. Absolutely no privacy. I didn't take any pictures of my view of the dumpster but I am thinking about taking such kind of pictures during my future camp outings and posting them online so... More

Beautiful campground. Electric and water in good condition. Paved pads. Bath houses weren't perfect, but I didn't spend much time there anyway. Camp store that sold beer. Short walk to the beach. Couldn't figure out a way to use the inflatable boat though. They have a small ramp behind the visitors center but wouldn't let me store the boat anywhere.

Fort Pickens was amazing. Much history and amazing it is still there. Very impressed and really enjoyed the tour. Would recommend highly. I really enjoyed walking around all the buildings and batteries. We camped in a pop up camper in Loop E since that is all that was left and was very satisfied. Low noise, not that busy at all.... We stayed at Ft. Pickens with our Grand children for the 4th of July weekend and Blue Angels weekend (July 8-9). My wife is a native of the area and since moving 20 years ago we visit every now and then. This is our first camping trip in a travel trailer. The good: Loop A is by far the best... More

My husband and myself stayed here for one night in a pop-up camper. We had a wonderful stay. The campground & restrooms are very clean. If you forgot anything there is shopping close by. Peg Leg Pete's restaurant is a must. Food is excellant and the service great. But, PLEASE don't go to the Dock Restuaurant right on the water.... More
