Shades of Green is an exceptional resort hotel for any active or retired military. It has very nice facilities with large rooms, good places to eat and nice pools. Coupled with other military discounts available for the Disney attractions it can't be beat as a place to stay at Disney World

We just returned from a long weekend at SoG. Very nice room in newer wing overlooking golf course. Amenities are nice - they are definitely adequate but not over the top. Bring your toiletries! Bus transportation was easy but note that bus to TTC runs 2 X an hour where others run 1 X. We walked to the Polynesian one... More

We had 3 Adults in our party and 2 Teenagers and I'm sorry to say that a Disney room just wouldn't have been big enough. We arrived at 2 am (late flight) and were checked in quickly. Our room was quite a distance from the lobby but the porter helped us and we were settled in and sleeping in no... More

My family spent a week at Shades of Green and were very pleased with the experience. Let me begin with the hotel rates, which are a fraction of those at other "on Disney" hotels. Shades is a military hotel that offers much lower rates in a clean, attractive setting and with a helpful staff. It is also located a short... More

Shades of Green is a hotel for military and Federal government personnel and their families. If you meet the qualifications and they have rooms available, you can’t beat the price when it comes to staying on Disney Property. As first time visitors, the layout and location of the tram was a bit confusing to us. No matter, we decided walking... More

We really enjoyed our stay at SoG and would highly recommend it to anyone who qualifies and wants to visit WDW. Our highlights included a delicious breakfast buffet; huge, clean rooms with comfortable beds; "America" ice cream shop; Mickey Mouse-shaped swimming pool and smaller kiddie pool; quick, convenient transportation options. Lodging price is very competitive for the area, and the... More

We had a wonderful time at SOG in mid-April. Would recommend highly to anyone qualified to stay here. Price and accommodations were excellent. We had three couples – one with a five year old. Reservations were made five months prior and we had side-by-side rooms on the ground floor in the new wing overlooking the golf course. Large, very clean... More

Upon our arrival we were allowed to park out front while registering provided an adult and the vehicle's key were there. Registration was a breeze. Our room was big enough for the 5 people in our party. However, we didn't come to stay in the room. The complex has everything and our room was very clean. The grandkids kept busy... More

Shades of Green is a military recreation facility. If you meet the eligibility requirements and are on a budget it is the best place to stay at Disney. The hotel is located on the Disney World property but prices are 1/3 to 1/4 of the rates at the Disney hotels. The property is located adjacent to the Disney golf courses.... More
