My husband and I stayed a few nights in May 2013. We liked the price of $119 compared to the bed & breakfasts for $150-$300. We were pleasantly surprised when we walked into Room #12, which has 2 double beds, a kitchenette (fridge, microwave, sink...no stove), & central air. I think this was a larger size room than the others... More

I was looking for a motel on Key West that didn't break the bank. The Southwind is an older model motel. It is very neat and well cared for. The reason I didn't give it a 5 is because of the beds. They are older and do squeak when you move but I didn't pay for a fancy bed. The... More

so, as far as accommodations, Key west can range from ultra 5 star private island stays or 1 star motel experiences... $2000 a night to $89 a night. I've had the blessing and curse of staying at both. SO that being said, my review is based on what I paid not what I like... This place fits the bill as... More

We were between reservations during a two week stay and thought this might be an ok option. Fail. Tiny room, squeaky bed, dirty shower. What more to say. The desk indicated they were undergoing a renovation. We asked to get a discount because we were obviously not in a renovated room and yet the charge, with tax, was still close... More

We stayed at the Southwind in February in 2013 for one night. We had a walk-in rate on a coupon that I picked up in a discount coupon book at the welcome center. I did not realize that the advertised rate was for a single, but Bob upgraded us to a double at a discounted rate.(keep in mind that things... More

Excellent value for the money in Key West. Friendly staff, calm location. Near the Southernmost Point. The pool was small but refreshing. Much better than I expected, and would certainly go back there.

If you're looking for a resort or spa experience this isn't your place but If you're looking for a place to sleep it's just fine. It's obviously older but very clean and well-maintained. The staff is very nice and I always felt welcome. My room was a large, one-bed efficiency with a refrigerator and microwave. The bed was large and... More

Cheaper than nearby places, has all the basic amenities. Very clean and conveniently located, close to Duval street and southernmost point. They have coffee 24 hrs, there is no breakfast option, we stayed for a night. Book way in advance for your Key West stay as hotels/motels become quite pricey down there. Safe to say that this was the most... More

You're not in Key West to sleep or stay in your room, so this was a cost-effective place to crash for a few hours! It's older and average, but was clean and safe and located right in the heart of the old town just a few blocks away from the "southernmost" icon marker. No ice machine (bummer) and few amenities,... We have stayed here a few times. The people have always been good to us and very friendly. I don't need to spend, $200 a night for a room that I am only going to be in for 10 hours a day. Our first time there, we were checking out on a Sunday, and knowing that parking down there, can... More
