Our biggest concern in renting at a pet friendly place is the cleanliness. We rented a cottage at the Whale Watch Motel the last few days of December that was spotless. Dishes were clean, we had lots of towels and sheets and pillows and honestly didn't see any dirt or bugs. Yes, the refrigerator had rust on the door, but... More

The Beache is the best part. You have to cross the highway to get there. Our room seemed clean. The refrigerator had rust all over it, which we did not have in hotels down the road. The air conditioner was old and noisey, we came across 2 cockroaches in our room around the sink. The bed was clean and the... More

Stayed here 3 times because they take dogs, but it isn't very clean and the owner does always reek of alcohol. Last time the room stank of dog urine. I'm trying out the Beach Front Motel this time. More

I promised myself I wouldn't reply, but I can't help myself anymore. This woman was unpleasable. She had to stay 3 times to decide she didn't like it here? "Last time the room stank of dog urine.". She appraised me of this condition, and as we do accept pets, this condition could occur (although very rare). Bringing a dog herself,... More

The whale watch is an amazing place. Barry and Pat are awesome people. They make sure you have everything you need. If you're looking for a quiet room by the beach, this is it. We stayed here in 2010 and again this year in 2011. We grilled out. Swam in the pool. Swam in the ocean. They provided us with... More

This is my favorite place to vacation. My family has come to the Whale watch for the past couple of years. The owner's, Pat and Barry, are the nicest and most acomodating people you could meet. All rooms are within a few steps of the beach and they have everything you would ever need. If you are sick of crowded... More

Beware if you bring your family to this 1950's Bates Motel. Weeds and dirt are the 'grounds" The office porch has old air conditioners laying around and looks unsafe to walk on.The owner came out of a disgusting "bat cave" below the porch. We reported this to the local county tourism officials as the place should not be allowed to... More

You are a sad bitter woman. You stated this was the place you like to stay, (fishing camp w/friends) but your friend wanted the glass, chrome, and lobbies of a highrise. You cancelled your stay and we only charged you $65 on your $265 stay. We would have refunded that if we could have booked it, but it was a... More

It's our favorite get away place, a short drive from Jacksonville but a world away from work. Barry and Patricia are the best at making everyone feel welcome. Super clean and totally dog friendly. We rarely visit the same place twice, but this was our second visit and it won't be the last. Comfortable, relaxing and affordable, we totally recommend... More

We enjoyed our stay in Whale Watch Motel. All rooms really have ocean view. Our room was very clean and nice. We loved the endless and lonely beach just across the road. We went for long walks, swam and sunbathed. I had my morning coffee on ocean observation desk - it was incredibly beautiful. It was a refreshing change after... More
