I will leave this review based on room #10, it was fantastic. As others write when you pull in your not quite sure what to expect since they haven't done much with the outside of this old Fl hotel. We wanted a king size bed and that is what #10 had as well as room to relax in and be... More

I consider myself a hotel snob. I'm a stickler with things being clean and smell fresh. For a place on the water, this was ok. It wasn't fancy. When you pull up, your initial reaction is that it's just an old motel. Each room is individually owned so they are decorated and kept up with differently. We had Unit 2.... More

The thing about King's Bay is that it is different in a way that some will love others won't. A previous review offered the opinion that a room at a chain motel for $20 more would be preferable. I would respond if that were to be your choice you would miss the following: Beautiful King's Bay on Crystal River practically... More

Our family of four stayed here one night, based on the Moon Handbook recommendation. After five Disney days, a touch of "old Florida" sounded like a nice change. Location and proximity to manatee viewing was great. I just wished the lodge had been updated and maintained a little better. There is a point where "rustic" crosses over to "run-down" and... More

Well, for us Brits we loved this motel. As people say, it is a little bit of the "Old Florida". Right on the river, and easy to walk to lots of restaurants or manatee trips. It reminded us of lots of US road movies where people stay in large motel rooms. Yes, the rooms are old and not spotlesslessly clean.... More

Last year I stayed at a "mom and pop" hotel in Bar Harbor. Based on my great experience there and good reviews online (and the fact that it was cheap), I booked this one. When I arrived around 5:30 there was a note on the office door "Out to dinner. Be back by 8:30." My thought was "Are you kidding?... More

This was so perfect for my wife and I,we brought down the boat and were able to launch right around the corner at Pete's Pier and park the boat trailer behind our room plus pull the boat right out front of our room in the boat slip.Perfect location for all activities.Several springs are minutes away, swim with the manatees or just... We originally planned to stay 2 nights but took an extra night. As other reviewers have said rooms are old but the one we stayed in was huge. With a well equipped kitchen and serviceable bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the unit clean, even if it was a little worn around the edges! If you want the Ritz-Carlton or... More

We were booked for 4 nights and ended up staying 8! The place isn't new and if you are very fuzzy you might want to go elsewhere. But it was clean and the room large. The location is excellent with resaturants (and the heritage village") within walking distance. The room did have an odd smell, but once we located (and... More

Location is perfect, Florida pool is really pretty, grounds are relaxing. Could be an absolutely beautiful place but needs a lot of maintenance. Some of the rooms leave much to be desired. We had two rooms - one was OK and clean though old, the other (#17) was not OK, dirty and also old. In that one, the appliances were... More
