The girl on reception was in the wrong job, we stayed in 12 B & Bs on our holiday and everybody was very friendly. The room we had was good, nothing to complain about. They didn't do breakfast in the Inn but could go across the road to a cafe and show them your room key, this was not a... More

Towel bar hanging by a screw off the wall, corners of the marble bathroom in desperate need of cleaning, sheets & pillow cases that are pilled, TV that is out of date, armoire that needs the footstool propped up to keep the doors from swinging open, busy signal on the phone when calling for help (no wake up call available)...this... This had the potential to be an enjoyable stay and upon arrival the Inn looked to be a good choice. However....... The reception/welcome was sorely lacking, arriving on a Monday when the restaurant was closed meant the keys to my room were left in the mailbox - without warning, apology or explanation. Thankfully I found them or I would have... More

My wife and I went to Boston on Thanksgiving weekend and on the way back home we both decided to stay at the inn in Madison CT.The place is very nice but the rooms have limited heat and hot water. It was very uncomfortable to sleep through the night and there was no-one around to complain too.The only think that they... Our room was above the bar facing the street, and there was a lot of ambient noise from both. Room is small, and overpriced for what is delivered. No amenities beyond tv. It is convenient to town and attractions. Restaurant below is expensive. Galls me to pay over $20 for pasta! You must see the maitre'd in the restaurant to... More

My husband and I have been going to the CT Shoreline for about 17yrs now. Our absolute most favorite place in the area is The Inn at Lafayette. It is like no other accomodation in the area in that you never feel like you're at a B&B. We are not the kind of people that enjoy "mingling" with other's during... More

I want to preface this by saying that we are typically not high maintenance people. We just expect something clean and decent and people to be nice for $200/night. My husband and I were town for a family wedding. Most folks were at the Madison Beach Hotel but that booked up quickly so I looked online for other options. One... More
