We spent one night at the Grand Imperial, arriving via the Durango-Silverton narrow gauage railroad, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The rooms and lobby evoke the 19th century West, as does the entire town. The high ceilings, antique bed, spacious room, and spare but servicable bath were as expected in an historic hotel. Be aware that there are no elevators... More

We spent one night here and really enjoyed the age and history of the hotel. It was decorated in the period and authentic in every way. The lobby is all wood and very beautiful. The room was larger than expected and nicely furnished. The view of the mountains from the window was incredible. We really enjoyed our stay and would... More

A really great place to stay, we had one of the King rooms which was a large, bright, clean room with great views, hotel has a very nice period bar and restaurant where you can get free coffee to go in the morning. Parking is on the street outside so when these slots taken you will have to park further... More

On the plus side, this is a historic hotel. It is a neat old building that has been restored fairly well. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room were reasonably clean. The bed was fairly comfortable. There was a ceiling fan and an oscillating fan in the room and the window opened so the ventilation was fine. However, be... More

This place is authentic! I love it! I've stayed here two times and both times I've had a paranormal experience. The only two times in my life! Yes, the 3rd floor is haunted! If you truly want to experience a "REAL" Colorado mountain town, Silverton is the best! The Grand Imperial is as an authentic late 1800's hotel as you... More

What a wonderful experience this was. Would love to go back in a year or so and stay there again. The rooms were large and comfortable. Everything was so nice, clean and neat. Real ambience. The decorations, some original, just fit with the 1892 hotel. Staff and owner very accomodating and friendly. More

My 72 year old Mother and I stayed a night in a suite on the second floor. The room was neat and tidy. The king size bed was huge and very high. We asked about a step stool, so it would be easier for my Mom to get into the bed. The staff actually caller her son to bring one... More

I love the Grand Imperial. Yes their old and creaky, but I have never had torn sheets, or a moldy bathroom. The reason the windows are closed shut is because it rarely gets to 81 degrees in mid summer!! At night it gets down to 30 or 40 degrees. Really like I said before you want the Ritz go there... More

I don't really have much to say for the quality of my stay except that I didn't believe in ghosts until I stayed here. Truly. I'm not crazy, but I woke up to a man with a top hat leaning over my bed in the middle of the night. I had no idea the place was haunted until the next... More
