Don and Barb were excellent hosts. The french toast was awesome. Dogs were friendly, room and property was clean and well maintained. I could've sat and talked with Don for hours - very interesting guy. I loved the old Lincolns and the weapons collection - bought two of them! These folks really have a good thing going - I wish... We stayed at this B&B for several nights while using Montrose, CO as a base for hiking in the stunningly beautiful Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park. On the positive side, our room (and its bed) were most comfortable and clean, and the inn itself very quiet despite its proximity to U.S. Route 550. Barb Miller was a pleasant... More

My stay at the uncompahgre bed and breakfast was perfect. Not only was my room decorated to perfection but I had a wonderful view. My room was decorated with wild cats. It was perfect considering my favorite animal is a tiger. I really felt at home. There rooms are all decorated differently to fit any preference or taste. Speaking of... More

This was a great value for the price. The food and company were wonderful!! Barb and MD very great host and hostess during my stay there. I and my daughter were there for a week and hated having to leave because we were so pampered. The relaxing atmosphere of the fireplace was cozy and warm on the cool evenings. Barb... More

By the standards of the many good B & B's where we have stayed, this one is mediocre. Our particular room was large, clean, and comfortable. My complaint there was that the DVDs that were provided for use in the DVD player included a religious right propaganda presentation claiming how Charles Darwin was allegedly responsible for hundreds of thousands of... We stayed with Barb and Don at the Uncompahgre Bed and Breakfast for almost a month while visiting our children and grandchildren in this gorgeous part of Western Colorado. The rooms at this remodeled old school house originally built in the 1920's are large and comfortable. Each room has a theme, if you are into themes, but the most important... More

In August 2010, we stayed as a family of four at the Uncompahgre B&B, located just outside of Montrose, CO - a restored country school house. Barbara and Don, B&B owners, were relaxed and helpful. Our accomodations were clean and comfortable. Our breakfasts were delicious and were served in the "school's auditorium" which also served at one point as the... More

We spent a night here in July on our way back to Denver. We were lucky enough to come across this place after being unable to find accommodation in Ouray. The host was delightful, room very comfortable and quiet and the breakfast excellent - the best quiche I've ever had. Really good value, warm, welcoming. The B&B though quite large,... More

We were struggling to find accommodation on the July 4th weekend. Thankfully the tourist bureau suggested this B&B. While it is not in town, it is defintitely worth staying at. Large rooms with really comfortable beds, quiet, free wifi, well decorated. AND the breakfast the next morning is amazing - fresh quiche, cereal, fruit etc etc !! Wow, what a... More

We stayed there on our way to Durango. This B&B is truly a special place. It was an elementery school back in the days, and know it features 8? spacious room, each with it's own theme. The breakfast room was the gym, but is now it has lot's of nice decoration. Barabara, Don and Tenner (the house dog) welcomed us... More
