What I learned from this visit is to separate the room experience from the location experience. The hotel was nearly empty; April is an off month. The clerk was very friendly and gave us an upgrade...nice king size room with a lake view. What I learned about Grand Lake is that it is best a place to sleep while you... More

We stayed in a one bedroom with a queen bed and bunk beds. The hotel is very clean and nice. The restaurant was closed for the season, but they had a very nice happy hour in the bar. I enjoyed cocktails while the kids had shirley temples. We played card and board games in the bar. It was very fun... More

The accomodations were clean, comfortable and well decorated. The room was spacious and cozy. Staff were friendly, professional and attended to requests promptly and courteously. Price was very affordable and exceptional value for the level of service/accomodations, especially in comparison to some lower end hotels that cost the same or more. More

The Inn was in a beautiful location and was very relaxing. Our room was beautiful and very clean. We weren't around the staff that much, but from what we could tell service was great. We would come back here for sure! More

My family truly enjoyed our stay in the rocky mountain national park area in July of 2011. We stayed in Estes park for 3 days and then 2 days in Grand lake at the Gateway inn. The west side of RMNP is quite different than the east side. The hotel is a very nice knotty pine type decor befitting the... More

We went up for a night, for our anniversary, it is a beautiful place with plenty of amenities, it is right at the head of the snowmobile trail, so great in the winter. We are going to go back in the summer for a golf trip. They told us they have packages for golf and rooms. The room was very... More

My husband and I were looking for a small mountain town near the Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park. We wanted to go to a beautiful place. We found this in Grand Lake. We had a room at the Gateway with a fireplace and balcony over looking the most scenic mountain and lake view you could imagine. After staying 3 nights at... More

Pros: Beautiful location, cleanliness, quiet, amenities (hot tub, exercise room, restaraunt), unique furniture (log beds), a variety of games located in the lobby, well working appliances and plumbing, easy check-in/check-out procedure, conveniently located close to the downtown area and entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park. Cons: No DVD/VCR devices (in case you were wanting to watch a horror flick as... More

Stayed at the Gateway Inn for two days. Would never return. Thought from the review that it would be a wonderful place to spend a couple of nights. Couldn't cancel reservations after booking without a 30% fee for two weeks or more prior cancel, and within two weeks you lose one day full charge for the room. and a week... More

We were impressed by the decor, log beds and furniture in the rooms and the lounge/restaurant area is very inviting. There is a nice deck outside the restaurant where you can eat outside and see a nice mountain view. We arrived on a Sunday night and there was live entertainment in the restaurant (they play there every Sunday night) -... More
