There are many wonderful reviews of this place on here, but I wasn't as impressed with it as I thought I'd be. The place needs some work-- fixtures and decor are old and some are tacky (esp in the Blue Whale room). My room hadn't been dusted well in a while, there was lint and hair all over a folded... More

It is with a degree of humility that I respond to this review, and I have written to this guest as well. First and foremost, thank you for bringing this to our attention. After this guest left, our manager gathered all the staff and one entire day was set aside for deep cleaning. I can honestly say that every room... More

We stayed at the "Lost Whale" the end of March, 2012 for yet another time of being treated like royalty. It was the change of seasons & there was a squall that I slept through. We met some wonderful people there. I used the hot tub even though it was a little stormy. Our favorite place. The "Agate Room" is... More

My husband and I and our 27 year old son stayed in the Beluga Whale room on a trip down the coast from Oregon. What a spectacular surprise this lodging is! Our room was very quiet and comfortable with a very special view of the ocean. We had dinner and breakfast the next morning at the Inn. Guia and Gary... More

We loved our visit here. The Beluga Room was large, but cozy on a rainy night and we've never used a nicer sauna -- wood burning with one entire side made of glass with an amazing ocean view. Happy hour appetizers of clam chowder, bread, cheese, and a full bar were more than enough for dinner. Hearty breakfast and friendly... More

My husband & I just returned from our 4th trip to The Lost Whale Inn. As always, it was an amazing experience! Sarah, Gary, & Guia made us feel right at home. We stayed in the Grey Whale Room which had a great view of the ocean. With the window open, the sound of the ocean & sea lions put... More

My wife and I took a trip to northern California in the first week of March, 2012. We ended up lucking out and finding an available room at The Lost Whale Inn. The rooms were very well kept with clean towels, soaps and shampoos and a bed that was second to none in comfort. We stayed in the Blue Whale... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and the Inn. They made us feel very welcome and full! With their "tea " which was stuffed mushrooms, fresh prawns, artichokes hearts, olives,OMG chocolate covered strawberries, cheese and crackers, help yourselves to the full bar, and dinner too? WOW Stuffed petrale sole, their famous meatloaf "very good" stuffed chicken breasts, mashed potatoes, their salad with... More

If you ever find yourself wanting to visit California Redwoods country The Lost Whale Inn is the place to stay. Gary & Guia and their staff are excellent hosts. We spent 3 nights at the Inn and were sorry to leave. Our room was the smallest they have, but a good size for us and had an ensuite bath. The... More

Came to Trinidad as part of our Sonoma/Napa vacation in May 2011 to see the Redwood forest. We only stayed here one night and thoroughly enjoyed it. We stayed in the Grey Whale room that was next to the stairs. Either everyone was quiet when we were there, or I was really tired, because I never heard anyone going up... More
