Well, I'll tell you the real rest of the story. Doug, you are accurate; I did have my daughter take lessons before she came. I'm an over-cautious mom of a used-to-be more over-timid daughter who had some sensory challenges with gross motor planning and muscle coordination issues early in life. It has been a real hard balance to know when... More

Hello RiverFisher2011, thanks for the great comments! I wish I could post management responses with video, we could put up some great lower Klamath jet boat footage! Thanks for your dedicated and loyal patronage that has now gone FAR beyond the business relationship. We look forward to your annual returns, and the periodic connections as we share "life moments" in... More

Our family of five spent five days at the ranch. The Coles are such a welcoming family and nothing was too much trouble. The mornings were action packed with riding tuition from Heidi, trail rides with Doug and shooting with lovely Ken. The afternoons were filled with kayaking and white water rafting. Our teenage boys enjoyed playing guitar and singing... More

Thank you for your generous compliments, and thank you for the effort to visit from such a distant home! We always appreciate our UK guests, students of Hogwarts and the up-N-coming famous rock stars continuing the British invasion. Yes, Peter always enjoys company around the campfire with contributions to his musical endeavors. We hope you can visit us again, and... More

Took my 76 year old father on a guided fly fishing drift boat. He hadn't been flyfishing for seriously for years and I am a beginner fly fisherman at best. Doug, our guide, was a total gentlemen, didn't make us feel like the rookies that we were, and we had an absolute blast. This is a top notch operation. My... More

Thanks for fishing with us, and thank you for your great compliments. Dad's hip issue was not an issue, since we were able to do our casting from the drift boat. We sure enjoyed your company, and your stories of conditions on the lower Klamath. Great weather, good company, solitude, and willing fish...can it get any better? Doug More

Thanks for the insights and the great compliments. You did in fact get a smaller group size in a "shoulder season" visit. Our usual guest population includes more children/ teenagers during the June - August season and is limited to about 30 guests. This is somewhat small for guest populations compared to many ranches, but smaller group sizes allow us... More

This was one of the best family vacations we ever had. Something for everyone, even a reluctant teenage daughter. The Cole Family were wonderful hosts and expert horse trainers, guides, rafters, cooks and more. Great food - we are planning on a "ranch dinner" after having bought Heidi's cookbook. No cell phone reception and lots of action meant that we... More

Thanks for the wonderful comments. It was great to get to know your family and to see your teenage daughter "open up", spar with us, tease, and show her true spirit. Sometimes teenagers seem to be a little slower to reveal themselves across cultural and linguistic barriers. What a good time we had with the three of you~! And now,... More

As a solo traveler, I look for adventure trips and found a great one at Marble Mountain Ranch. From morning to night there are outdoor activities. Although I expected horseback riding, I was blown away with the spectacular scenic trails and the training in the arena. I loved the shooting range and white water rafting 5 out of 6 afternoons.... Thank you for your unique insights and for giving us a chance to serve you as a solo traveler. As you have discovered, it does not take long for the ranch guest population to bond and become one family as we start sharing adventures, meals, and good times. The grandparents, parents, kids, solo travelers, and couples all seem to find... More

What can i say but Wow (and for the benefit of Doug-brilliant). We've just returned to England from a 3 week trip round California and the highlight had to be the week at Marble Mountain. We booked having been very impressed by the website and thought that the ranch sounded just what we were looking for. You always worry before... More

Fantastic! Brilliant! Lovely! Our British guests always make us feel so "SPOT ON"! Oh, and we are KEEN to have you return! Sharing the Western American experience is what we are all about, but frankly, we also get quite a lot of enjoyment from connecting to the rest of the world with our global guest population. What a fun family... More

My husband, 18 year old son and I had the opportunity to spend a week @ "the ranch" with the Cole family. This was a trip I personally have wanted to do for 20 years and finally made my dream come true in honor of a milestone birthday. Marble Mountain Ranch exceeded every expectation and included some delightful surprises. Our... More

Wow! 20 years is a long wait! Interestingly enough, we just had a guest this end of August who had watched our website for 5 years prior to booking. In her case, it was a matter of letting her daughter grow a bit and take some riding lessons so she could maximize the experience. What ever the motivations, we seem... More

We are just returning home and my 12 year-old twins and 19 year old daughter are already requesting a return trip for next year. There are so many great options every day: horses, shooting, water (rafting, kayaking, fishing) and the food is terrific. Doug and Heidi and family are great hosts. The weather was spectacular. I just loved the early... More

Thank you for the wonderful review. Regarding the bears: We have "black bear" here, which are for the most part docile. If they see a nearby bipedal homonid, weather it is humanoid or saskwatchian, they generally move away quickly. Actually, it is good advice though for our running visitors to carry a deterrent such as a pepper spray just in... More
