OK right upfront you should know that spending the night at Safari West has a couple of negative aspects but in the whole scheme of things they are so minor they do not detract at all from the overall coolness of the experience. Here are the only two negatives: The shower is like standing in a soft gentle rain. It... More

I wanted to take my granddaughter on an adventure for her 10th birthday. Her mother and I had been on safari in Botswana in '06 so I thought this might be fun. I was really surprised by the quality and authenticity of this experience. The tent was well appointed and similar to what I had in Botswana, minus the electric... More

We came with three generations, and I know everyone had a fantastic time. We stayed in two tent cabins overlooking the main giraffe paddock, though the second day's chilly drizzle kept the giraffes indoors. We slept warm and cozy under our electric blankets, and woke to the sounds of flamingos and other wild animals. The behind-the-scenes tour the next morning... More

I have been wanting to take my daughter here for awhile (my son is too little to enjoy it). We finally had a chance to come here for her Spring break. We drove up in the afternoon and checked in about four. We got a short tour/explanation the grounds and then driven to the cabin (which wasn't far but it... More

I thoroughly enjoyed the tour with our guide, Julie. The day was rainy and cold, but our group had a great sense of adventure and humor. I appreciated that the animals who needed extra warmth in the cold weather were in their barns. I will see them next time! Giraffe and rhino and lemur and cape buffalo...wonderful! I will return... Thank you for your kind words. I will pass it on to Julie. Today all the African animals are out enjoying the lush green grass and sunshine today, if fact it kind of looks like Giraffes and other African animals on a golf coarse! We very much look forward to your return visit. all the best, Mark DeWitt More

This year we spent New Years Eve at Safari West, and the overnight accommodations sparked a debate between my wife and me about whether this was luxury or hardship. More about that later… Overall, the experience was wonderful. We arrived in the late afternoon, and the friendly staff checked us in and gave us a ride to our tent. You... More

Thank you Jim and Barbie for such well thought out and kind comments on Safari West. I agree, New Year Eve was magically wonderful. It was a pleasure to share your comments with our team members. I agree with you that staying overnight in our Luxury Safari Tents really adds to the "African Experience" in that you have the opportunity... More

We stayed overnight before our safari at Safari West in one of their tents. The tent was great for the 4 of us, 2 adults and 2 kids as it had a King sized bed and a set of bunk beds. The only thing I was worried about it because of them using a regular mattress on the top bunk,... More

My family and I enjoyed a tour and Thanksgiving dinner at Safari West. One of the highlights of our trip was our interaction with the Cape Buffalo. They really don't like stuffed giraffes! We'll be talking about that for a long time. Thank you to Sydney for a great tour!

My husband and I stayed in Cabin 30 for one night... Because it's November, I thought we would freeze to death. But Safari West thought of everything! Thanks to two space heaters and a positively delightful electric blanket, we were SO cozy. It was a huge cabin. Very clean, and nicely decorated. We heard the flamingos a few times during... More

I was here 18 years ago and Safari West was a unique and wonderful daytime experience. A truck ride around an area similar to what might be seen in Africa is made interesting by excellent tour guides and plenty of animals. Great for kids, but adults who aren't pleased by screaming children might want to reconsider this, or insist on... More
