I really like this hotel. Everyone was friendly. The free breakfast was awesome. The taxi will bring you around santa monica for free till 10pm which is a great add on. They also had free parking which also benefited us.

We gravitated toward this hotel due to its LEED certification, complimentary organic breakfast, free local cab, free parking, and reasonable rate for LA. All of these things met our expectations. The Ambrose is about 20 blocks from the beach and Santa Monica Pier, but it's a nice walk down there. The immediate neighborhood is quiet & residential, with grocery stores and small shops. The breakfast is good, no hot dishes but great pastries, yoghurt, ect. We only stayed one night, but wish we'd have more time!

The Ambrose is a user-friendly hotel, with easy parking, attractive Craftsman decor, and an included breakfast which is better than what most hotels serve. It is not near the beach, but is very convenient to mid-town Santa Monica restaurants, Montana Avenue, and Bergamot Station. They were extremely rude unwelcoming messed up the reservation after we had called and confirmed yet when we arrived the next day apparently it was unconfirmed. We checked out after only one night. Don't even think about staying there.
