Great hotel, nice breakfast. Only problem was the internet service did not work in our room and we had to go to the lobby for a connection. Had trouble with the room key too. Had to have it reset. Just minor issues.

Santa Maria's main drag is Broadway and it can appear less than inviting. But the Best Western Big America was quite nice and a great deal. We stayed here after visiting Solvang on a trip from L.A. up the coast. It was much cheaper than staying anywhere near Solvang during the weekend, and it is only about a half hour away. Room size was amazing. Twice the size of conventional rooms. The bathroom was also "super sized" with a separate toilet cubicle. There was also a nice dressing table in the bathroom. The hotel is ok and I enjoyed the stay, but the hotel looks better even on the pictures than in reality. The mirrors in the rooms makes them look much bigger than they are. The pool is also both smaller and shallower than the impression you get from the pictures.
