We were in town for a wedding. Santa Barbara was very expensive for us, but this place was a good price, considering. This olde world Victorian home has all the little extras you don't get from standard hotels. We came out of our bathroom shower in the am to find the bed made and coffee with home made jam and... Very well located, comfortable with a beautiful garden. Frittata and French Toast delicious. Inn keepers gracious and kind. They go out of their way to make your stay the best they can. Breakfast in bed, jacuzzi tubs and wine and hors d' oeuvres, organized wine tastings and massages. I will go back as often as I can.

We stayed at the Cheshire Cat over a President's Day weekend and enjoyed the visit. We booked the Alice room, which was well kept and had a nice balcony. However, there is a big palm tree on the property next door that disturbs the mountain view (see attached). Interestingly, this palm tree doesn't appear in the picture on the website... More

We came for a biking weekend as a group of 6 couples. This was our group’s second stay at the inn, although it had been a few years in between. We were not disappointed. Attention to detail was incorporated in all elements of the inn. The rooms and gardens were meticulously maintained. The welcome was gracious and attentive and the... More

We stopped over just for one night and stayed over in the Prestbury cottage - cheaper for a private 2 bed cottage than the local hotels were charging for 1 room. The cottage came with its own hot tub which was a nice surprise. However the only issue was the shower, very old and could do with replacing. Hard to... More

My husband surprised me for my birthday. Like a purrfect (giggle) husband, he went on Trip Advisor to select a getaway. This place is lovely, quaint, and full of character. We were able to check in early with no problem. It was really nice to have a Keurig coffee machine available in the lobby. Plenty of Starbucks K-Cups on hand... More

We stayed in the White Rabbit room and it was delightful. Nice balcony overlooking the garden. We enjoyed the wine and snacks in the evening and the lovely breakfast in the morning. A charming property.

My friend and I enjoy B & B's. They are usually set up for couples, and it is often difficult to find a room to share that's not set up for a romantic get-away. Our room (Alice) was spacious and had a wonderful balcony overlooking the pretty backyard. The staff was very attentive and eager to please. The very generous... More

We were on a driving trip from San Francisco to LA along the Pacific Coast Highway, and we just stopped when we felt like it. What a bonus we stopped out side the Cheshire Cat Inn, and they had a vacancy. Arriving just on 5pm, drinkies and nibblies were being served, and it was nice to catch up with a... More

Selected the Cheshire Cat for a near to downtown location to explore Santa Barbara restaurants and architecture. The innkeepers were very helpful, providing discerning restaurant suggestions sorted by one's preferences. The wine hour was great for meeting other interesting guests and the breakfasts a tasty nutritious selection of items supporting the main course. The neighborhood was typically quiet and good...
