Excellent location right in the middle of State street. The hotel has character and rooms are nice. The valet parking is a joke though as the car park is tiny!

We have stayed many times at another downtown Santa Barbara hotel which costs twice as much. Friends told us about this hotel and we have now stayed there twice. We are pleased wth all aspects: clenliness, location, price, staff, parking, quality. I am picky about hotels and will pay what it takes to get the quality I want. Hotel Santa...

Great stay at a hotel with character and great service right in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara. Walk out the front door and within a few blocks you have excellent restaurants, great shopping and even the beach. Rent bikes and cruise the water front or do a day trip to the wineries or tour the mission. Only down side...

We stayed here on a one night stop-off on our way heading north. The location was perfect - right in the centre of town, but just 10 minutes from the beach. Our room was on the fourth floor, was spacious and quiet, clean and comfortable. The shower unit in particular was pretty dated, but overall we thought this was a...

Very disappointed with my stay at the Hotel Santa Barbara. The elevator can only accommodate two people with their luggage, takes forever to move through the floors and takes manual labor to open the gate to enter or leave the elevator. We ended up helping elderly couples not knowing how to even work the elevator. Our second night, both of...

One day, I was off work and so was my girlfriend. We decided to take a spontaneous trip from LA to SB for the night. We drove up the coast and the weather was great. We didn't have a reservation and when we checked with the Front Desk, they were very accommodating and had availability. The room was more on...

Just pay a little more for the hotels near the beach, it'll be worth it. Breakfast was ok. Elevator was slow and non responsive at time. Bathroom is tiny.

I really enjoy the location of this hotel. It's great to stay right on States St., the central of S.B. where all the good restaurants, wine bars, and shops. It's a busy little town when you stay here, which I enjoyed tremendously. Hotel room needs a major makeover for more comfortable amenities. Carpet in the room and stairways is negatively...

I chose this hotel because of the central location, and it worked out perfectly in that respect. The things I liked : Location, Cleanliness, Starbucks right out the door, and Friendly Staff & Valet. What I didn't like : Small room size, very uncomfortable bed and pillow, foul smelling water in bathroom sink and noise from elevator. I may give...

The rooms are small, but clean and functional. The service and breakfast were average. Honestly, if you plan on spending more time than just sleeping in your hotel room, skip Santa Barbara and head to Vegas. Note that the proximity to State St. means there may be some late night noise. Overall, I would stay here again. For the price,...
